ok, im 16 and im short for my age, only 165 cm, even though im asian, most other asian my age are like a few inches taller than i am, i have seen my doctor and he checked my pubic hair, and he concluded that im already in my fifth stage of puberty, and there's hardlly any room for growth now.............that means i will be 165cm for the rest of my life, and u have no idea what depressing news that is, most chicks are even taller than me for god's sake, even the one im going out with, who is a british chinese mix

i know this may sound absurd or stupid, but is there actually any medical or surgical methods that are proven to increase height??

you have to drink more milk that is need for bone growth. then you can do stretching exercise such as chin ups. you need to hold your body suspend from the bar for long time. repeat this exercise many times to stimulate bone growth. Don't forget to drink milk

You can stimulate bone groeth in tern of density of tissue but they will never get longer, you will never get taller.

You've got a girl havn't you? Doesn't that prove that height doesn't matter?

Yes, there is a surgical method, it involves breaking your bones, and creating a gap between the breaks, thus when the bone regrows, it'll grow into the void. Painful.

ya i have the girl, but that's only because both of us thought one day i will grow taller than HER and the relationship still carries on, and face it, she probably wont' be the girl i am marrying anyways, so there's still this problem of dating the majority of chicks that are taller than me after she's gone

We're the same height, but I'm not particularly worried about being short for the rest of my life. why?

a) people here in HK are pretty short if you haven't already noticed

b) I know a guy- the BEST DJ in the entire world- and he's 5'6" He also happens to be dating a 5'11". DJ-ing is all about your personality.

c) I've started working out. If I can't be tall, the least I can do is be buff

I've always been more or less the shortest guy in my year since primary school- I'm used to it. In fact, chicks love it when I make jokes about my height. The trick is to be comfortable with your body.

Chances are, if your parents are short/tall, your final height upon reaching adulthood will probably be slightly taller than or close to their height. The funny thing is that height usually comes from the mom's side of the family, look at your uncles to figure it out.

When i was in high school i drank a lot of milk and i still do today.
Extra calcium is good for the bones, but it wont guarantee anything about more hieght.

oh man don't even mention it ppl in hk now are TALL.....seriously u can probably see like 10 yao ming on a busy street anytime in the weekend putting their arms around chicks that are like a head shorter than them : My height

the thing is, there's this culture here in Asia that chicks like to go for guys that are like a head or two taller than them, that's how they get securities and protection

ya i know i got a cousin in HK who's like freakin 6' or 6'2" if i remember right. But both his parents are pretty big boned.

It's odd really, cause of a lot of asian chicks, particularly chinese girls are very short. I know this girl from Macau who was like 5'3..something like that. And her last bf was like 5'11. They realize theyre short and their children will be too unless they mate with someone taller than them which might improve her offspring.

Anyway if it makes you feel any better, the body doesnt stop growing until it reaches 25.

Calcium is a proponent in bone growth, but it can be received from many sources other than milk.

Chinups are not a stretching exercise, and you're not even talking about chinups.

You're talking about bar hanging. Bar hanging gives your spine a chance to rest and decompress. It does not encourage bone growth, it just puts a little fluid in the joints of your spine since it's not spending time squeezing it out for the period you're hanging there. It has to be done pretty damn frequently for any noticable effect though.

The visible difference in height is negligible, but it's good for the back.

Yeh, there are a FEW Yao Ming's here and there in HK, but the AVERAGE height is much much shorter than other countries like...USA for example.

Height is one way to get that security and protection. Another is to be BUFF. Look at Franco Columbu as semag suggested. I don't think any of his girlfriends had problem with security. A confident attitude is obviously another great thing to give the girl protection.

My suggestion is to stop complaining about things you can't change and improve on the things that you can. (yes, it is generally agreed that you can't change height without complicated surgery).

The DJ method overcomes all physical imperfections however- ugliness, shortness and even MIDGETNESS (yes, there IS a midget somewhere on this forum. I hear he's a pretty good DJ too).

p.s height jokes...off the top of my head, make references to high heels, "compensation" in other body parts, not having to get in trouble for looking at girl's breasts, etc. I prefer to improvise as much as I can so the joke actually fits into the situation.
