Follow Suzuki's advice. But also, find what your body is most responsive to. If you're just starting, almost anything will get you big gains. You can do a billion reps of light weights and still get results at the start. But a good way to start is to set up a routine accordingly, track your progress, see what you work well with and go from there.
No two bodies are alike. Personally, MAX-OT was great for me and did a lot of mental as well as physical work for me. But some people hate it. It's your body, no book is going to dictate how yours exactly works and grows.
