How Was This Message?

I recently got canceled on by a girl the day of the date. The applogie sounded very sincere and very personal. In the message she said, it was like four minutes so she said a lot, you can call me back if you want, if you don't I totally understand and I feel really, really bad about this.

So I waited a week and I intentionally called when I knew her machine would pick up. In my happiest most upbeat voice I said "Hi XXX, I was calling to see how you are doing and to say thank you for being honest with me. Your honesty says a lot about your character and made an impression. Anyway, don't worry about calling me back fix whatever problems you have. The next time I talk to you I don't want to hear the sad voice on my machine, I want to hear a happy voice. I'll call you soon."

I really don't think this hurt her IL for me at all. I haven't been calling her and I haven't in anyway let her know that this got to me. I still followed through with our plans and plan on showing her pictures the next time I see her.

I think it works out pretty well.

1) If she was being honest, then I gave her a compliment.
2) If she lied she looks like a fool now.


I haven't tried her since then, but I will on Sunday. I think I have demonstrated the fact that while I would like to know her, I don't have to. Right now I have to jet for a date with a 9 in three hours.

I personally wouldn't have called her back; I would've waited if she wanted more of me by seeing if she called back in the following weeks/month. Seriously.

Just say'N thanks for being honest is enough. If she was lying this would make her laugh even more then make her feel cheap cuz if she's hypocrite enough to leave a 4min msg ... anyways.

I personnally wouldn't have buttered her with the 'happy voice' on my machine. How old are you? Cuz to me it sounds kinda corny. It's ok if you're in high school though.

anyways - as for me, I wouldn't have left a message. I NEVER leave message. It's just a pain N a call for problems. U should of just call'ed and talked to her after that week. U did right to wait a week though.

The message sounds very AFC, you are giving her too much room. There's no need to be considerate and shiet when she cancelled with whatever excuse, and there's no need to be considerate when you're just dating. But i don't mean to be an *******...but quit being a sissy boy.

Whenever a girl says "I totally understand if you ..."

You are done like dinner.

When the girl is really interested she says "I'm so sorry that ... (sh1t happened and we couldn't get together) Please don't hold it against me and I'll call you as soon as I can and I'll make it up to you."

"I totally understand if ..." is ******** for "move on of you own accord so I won't have to really tell that I'm not interested and then look like the bad guy."

The only way to win in this situation is to lay a "loss of potential" trip on her. Leave her a message that says "I'm glad that you understand. I thought things could have worked out between us but then ... well you know. Anyway, I'll see you around."

She'll phone you right back offering to make it up to you.
