Scenario is a group of three friends go to a restaurant together, music is playing. Two people just holding a 1-1 convo, their voices are low and can't be heard and it just keeps going while the third person just sits there doing nothing just watching this two person conversation and they are never let into the convo. What would you do?

If I’m nearby, I’d open up with the one that obviously is just waiting to be included. Not much effort and you can make their day better, plus there’s most likely something you can get out of that interaction

I've been there. After reflection I realized more often than not it isn't being 'ignored' necessarily, but the people I was with having a lack of interest in myself or what I have to say. The solution? (Just like with women) only invest in people who invest in you.

If you find yourself frequently in these situations assess your social groups and see if you are genuinely the 'problem' or come to terms that the people you associate with don't care about you as much as you think they do. Painful, but helpful.

In your exact scenario I would attempt to chime in and be social within reason. If i'm not getting any bites I'll move to a better spot to cast ....even if i'm familiar with the former.

Have they done this to you before? If so, for how long? Do they value your time or waste it (phone calls, texts or in person)? Are they well educated or are they just monkey simps who whip out their smartphones and Google everything pretending to know everything both in real life and in online forums? Do they carry your same vibes and mesh with you? Do they have any useful skills, hobbies or jobs that will benefit you going forward? You have to answer those questions and make some tough decisions. Go solo until you find a new group if necessary.

Groups of three are tough. If you are an introvert with two extroverts, forget about it, unless one or both really like(s) you; then they’ll include you in the conversation.

But generally speaking, most people are very clique-y. If they don’t consider you part of their clique, they will consciously or unconsciously freeze you out, even if you’ve done nothing wrong.

Only hang out with people that like you and value your company.

There is no “cure” for certain people ignoring you except to not hang out with them anymore. If you keep trying to insert yourself into “their” conversation, you will look tryhard, and you are swimming against the tide.

For that night though, just lone wolf it and enjoy the show. Or go get another drink and chat up the bartender or meet somebody new.

idk man everyone's different. it makes no sense to analyze random people and make conclusions.

if you yourself are being ignored, i think its a major sign that someone doesnt want to talk to u. if it makes no sense why, just assume their weird or have a personal issue and get out of the situation lol. or ask someone who is not ignoring you like yo what is up with <person>. If you really want the attention tho, make a big scene.
