Yo, how do you get broad shoulders like a swimmer, without swimming?

Whats the name of the muscle too?

When you can standing military press 200lbs and do a seated db press with 100lb weights, most likely you won't be complaining about your shoulder size!

which one works better to broaden your shoulders, military presses or lateral raises?

anyway, i thought that if you want to broaden your shoulders, you should focus more on back muscles than shoulders, is this wrong?

A wide back gives the impression of big shoulders, yes, but not in the same way that cannonbal delts and powerful traps can.

Forget lateral raises, forever. Rubbish isolation exercise.

Military press and dumbbell press, that's all you need, plus heavy deadlifts to cover your traps and rear deltoids.

You think that it's gonna happen overnight? Come on, it's like saying "I want to lift but I don't want to look like a bodybuilder" ..

Once you're satisfied with your trap development you can stop and just maintain them.

yes, but i think i'm already satisfied... i mean, what can traps do to your appearance if you already have a nice neck? they can only make it bigger

So doing the military presses and the dumbell press with get the V shaped body?

Don't really want my hips to be as wide as my shoulders.

V-shaped body comes with heavy back work, shoulders are a part of it but you need a thick and wide back to get the v taper.

Chins, deadlifts and free weight rows. Awesome for back thickness, and will give the v-taper

Train shoulders as a group on their own, not with chest or any other group.

I cna never keep my back straight doing military press, i always seem to bending backwards, what can i do? I am using like 20kg so i dont want to use less weight, unless thats the only way to straighten up my back!

I remember once reading somewhere credible that ultra-wide grip lat pulldowns can encourage expansion growth.

Anterior Delts...
Barbell Presses, Military Press, Dumbbell Front Raises, Bench Press

Medial Delts...
Side Lateral Raises, Barbell Upright Rows

Posterior...
Rows, Pulldowns, Bent-Over Raises

-Use heavy weights and full range of motion.

Heavy deadlifts with the shoulders pulled back on the top of the movement will do more for your rear delts than any lateral raise..

If you want your shoulders to look broader and wider...work your lats and upper back. If you want the actual shoulder itself to look thick, work your shoulders and traps.

Military press will NOT help you get the V-shape. That v-shape comes from highly developed lats and upper back muscles. Military press works your shoulder muscles, not your lats or upper back.
