How to game against friends

I'm sure we've all been in the situation and this is probably how it happened in our AFC days.
You and a friend meet girl, both chat her up, sense the rivalry between each other, she notices you both fighting for her attention(DLV), you realize this but if you leave it just gives her more alone time with your friend etc..

Just wondering what you guys do in situations like this.
Non-d^ck ways to DHV or get the girl to set her target on you not your friend. What are your guys tactics in these situations?
I dont want to be referred to the bible or anything like that, I'm looking for new tips/strategies that you guys have done IN-field.
I want to hear guesses/strategies or new ideas

This sort of thing happens a lot in college and figured it'd be a good thread/topic for us to discuss. What you do/what not to do in these situations. critique etc..

I despise that type of thing, and would never compete for a females attention. It just doesn't make sense. If she is so up in the air about you then she is not worth opposing your friend over. You are making a fool of yourself and of course she is going to play along with it, because you are validating her and making her feel sought after. But in the back of her head she thinks you are a wanker for competing with your "friend" for the same girl and would most likely never take you seriously.

If anything I would see if she is interested in going somewhere alone. If she really likes you she would be happy to do so and end the petty rivalry right there.

I agree with this and will never compete directly for a female's attention while another dude is trying to, however if I like a girl I will try to get her alone (e.g. smoke a cigarette, get a drink at the bar, etc) so I can game her 1on1 and see what she's like in this situation.
