How to do a cold approach in the hall?

Basically the title says it all
but i know basically everyone my age and older and a few a year younger but how do I approach other people who are a year younger?

i hope someone answers this cause im having trouble with it to, i dont really have as many conversational options unless its like hey whats up, then i usually get a bland "nothing"
hopefully someone can help us out on this one.

I've only used this opener once, and although i'm not a big fan of cold approaching, you guys should try it.

It's when the girl you like is around her friends. Go up to her and say something similiar to " hey me and my friend couldn't help but notice you guys, and we were wondering, which one of you is the tough chick?"

When I used it, it went pretty well. I mean, I didn't get rejected and I stayed there for a few minutes before ejecting, but I was a nervous wreck when I did it lol. Try it out and see how it goes. I posted it in my "Senior year field reports" Somewhere, just skim around it until you find it.
