I have been doing some introspection in the past few days and I have noticed that when I'm not doing school work, enjoying with friends, family and acquaintances or teaching myself computer science, I spend my time doing meaningless things and activities. It's not that I'm paralyzed and do nothing, but this problem f*cks up my time management plan on a daily basis.

I know I can do this with operant conditioning, but I would like to hear the best and worst practices to fix this issue.

Are they really meaningless if you enjoy them?

Instead of looking for meaning in your life try seeking fulfillment instead. Then you won't have to validate your life based on the arbitrary definitions of what every other individual sees as meaningful.

They are sort of an addiction, or an obstacle I want to pass in order to pursue fulfillment.

Time is merely an illusion for control, It has as much significance as you give it.
Unfortunately too many people become dictated by time to the extent, they stop living in the present and are either living in their past memories or looking forward/dreading an event in the future. While their life simply flashes by, without even realizing.

Time is not your issue. If you are not willfully conducting these 'meaningless' activities for enjoyment, than it is likely it is an automated response to an upcoming stressful situation, referred to as procrastination. Until you address this situation you will likely continue spending time on the 'meaningless' activities.

If that is not the case either, than you need to acknowledge these 'meaningless' activities are actually your medium for enjoyment and not necessarily a hindrance to your life, after all you are achieving an outcome.

I actually enjoy doing nothing and just breathing.
