I am employied now with a good-paying job 26 y.o. working since 22.

My Goal:

basically i want to make a lot of money now and live off the interest of a couple million the idea being your freeing up your time from a 40-60 hour week where your basically trading time for a paycheck. THe extra time i 'd like to travel, met people ...etc. the money is earned passively via interest ..
furthermore, i have a lot of college buddies in silicon valley ( startup companies) and a lot of connections into hedge funds but basically these are like cubicle jobs where you make a fixed salary working for the company and work long hours.

someone once said' you have to start your own business to make millions, you'll never earn it working for a company'

well i've done some very light research -- ive heard of some wall street jobs e.g. trader that pay 1+mil a year. i ve also thought about owning 4 or 5 gas stations..i met a real estate developer the other
day who developed something near my house...

any suggestions or leads i can follow up ?

this has been discussed at nausea in the past. I was fortunate enough to start a company and sell it for (very) low 7 figures about 2 years ago now. I could live off the interest I suppose, but my lifestyle would take a dramatic hit. I actually haven't touched the money

I won't say it can't be done working for someone else, but it would have taken me at least 25 years to do what I did in 3 working for myself.

Do what you like. there is money everywhere.
