How old were you when you got your 1st car? What kind of ride was it?

Did you lease or purchase? Buy new or used?

Back when I was 17, it was an 88 taurus, 3.0. My mom gave it to me. Ended up in a crash after I got t-boned on red. Then I had a 95 police interceptor, span out and crashed on it at 120 mph on wet road. Now I have 01 GT 5 speed, nice car, but no license to drive it.

I want a bike, because cars get dings and dents, and I can't stand that.

I didn't get my license till I was 17,at that time I drove my parent's cars,a Jetta GT and a Nissan Quest. For my 18th birthday to myself(read parents didn't buy for me) I bought a Porsche Boxster. So technically I bought my first car when I turned 18.

Bought my car last September(06), still 18.

Its a '99 toyota corolla, forked out $6500 of my own bills for it.

In the midst of pimpin it out right now, puttin some sweet rims on it, turbocharging, sound sys., etc

A few summers of crappy jobs paid for it, and its been worth every minute and penny.

You're what we call a ricer. There isn't a turbo for corolla, there is a supercharger. Turbo only if you can do it yourself or can afford some major hours at a nice shop.

Blinkwatt? How did you get your car? You must be some lucky bastard to buy boxter at 18, maybe you had help from parents. Not that it's a good car. When it comes to envying a guy with an exotic, I like this one a lot. My stang will kill every exotic 11 sec or above, that's pretty much everything under $200 grand.

Come on,ANY car can be made fast...but that's it. Fast isn't anything,go to an autocross and learn about a car's real ability. Speed is 1/3(speed,braking & handling) of a car's performance, but then the driver matters more then any of those. By the way I don't care about speed,I have a 911 in the garage that flys up to 165 then it decides to slow down but still gains speed.

That's exactly why it won roadster of the year for something like 5 out of it's first 10 years in production from Car & Driver huh? It's balanced, the braking is excellent, the handling is world class(only car to ever beat an Enzo on twisties) and the power is adequate, not a speed demon.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I'm an an SCCA driver in two classes, my man. I know about cars. As a dealer I drove pretty much all exotics under $500k, and fords beat those in performance, reliability, handling, and compforts.

The only thing that those cars bring is the flase sense of class, IMO. So a guy drives a $100 grand DB7, you put him at a light against a $20 grand 5 speed coupe, and the rich guy will be very dissapointed. Creature compofts? GT is a much nicer car, with a better handling.

That's your cheap-O $20 grand stock GT stang. You start getting into real american exotics, such as Saleen mustang, or S7, or Rousch GT. Now you're talking. Nothing compares to ford, ford compforts, ford handling, and ford reliability. I want to stick chevy in there too, but they lack in reliability.

Pedegree? Ford and ford powered won more races that anything else out there.

Presitige? That's probably the only thing that exotic drivers can brag about. But then again, you put a $400 grand lambo at a light with a mid $30 grand stock Saleen, used, don't have to be new. Rich guy will be very dissapointed.

I drove them all, they lack torque.

Another thing. You can make the cars I'm nuts about fast. The cars you nuts about are already fast, not much can be done.

Taurus SHO, SVT Countour, and SVT Focus are in class with boxer.

This is a joke right? I have driven several Mustangs(new and old),they aren't as sporty as people make then to be,it's all the mystique that people are drawn to. I will give you that the higher end models can have speed, but that's the higher end not the base. You say the handling is on par with everything else? Why are the slalom numbers soo bad? How can you even compare it handling wise to like of the Boxster and basically any Ferrari to ever be produced? If the car is so great why aren't they acknowledged as a car of the year?

I want to stick chevy in there too, but they lack in reliability.

Chevy is making a statement with the Z06,but the sad thing is,most of the people who own them don't even know how to drive them.

Pedegree? Ford and ford powered won more races that anything else out there.

You have to remember that Ford has also been a full scale manufacturer alot longer then alot of the companies making cars today.

Presitige? That's probably the only thing that exotic drivers can brag about. But then again, you put a $400 grand lambo at a light with a mid $30 grand stock Saleen, used, don't have to be new. Rich guy will be very dissapointed.

My friend has a 01' Cobra, and while it's fast and the braking is decent,it's still sub par handling wise and the interior is cheap.

I drove them all, they lack torque.

True most non-American cars may lack torque but there are still some Monsters if you have the money.

Amen to that!

First car: '75 350 Chevy Nova - Red - White stripe.

Awesome memories, thanks for starting my day off great! Dad, Uncle's and brothers always into the muscle cars, Super B's, GTO's, RoadRunner's, Camero's, Chevelle's, there was something always rumbling in the driveway.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Toyota Supra and Nissan Skylyner will smoke your car.
Please learn the TRUE definition of ricer. Ricer is someone who spends all his money on external stuff like rims and body kit that doesn't make the car faster.

my bad. I just read about it in a mag and got the terminology wrong, professor.

If I was a ricer I'd be putting body kits, spoilers, hood intakes, fogs, and all that other **** on it. sound system, s.charger, and rims isn't quite the same man.

Another thing, settle down. Just cause ur a car junkie doesn't mean we all are.
