Don't take glutamine and creatine together.
The theory that the same receptors are used for both, and thus won't give you gains is not totally proven. Ontop of that, I've exprienced great gains while taking both Creatine and Glutamine. Good looks with the heads up, though.

Try what you want. I used to throw 5g of glutamine in my shake once a day and then 5 - 10g of creatine in hot water. You can always up your intake of glutamine to around 10g.

There are no receptors for creatine and glutamine, they arent hormons.

I really see no reason why you cant take them together.

I'd like to hear why you shouldn't take them together.

creatine can do wonders but for me it always caused me to get super bloated and stuff.. like right now i am 5'10 and 180ish, i'd guess about 7% bodyfat..i dont even mess with creatine anymore.. at one point i was up to 195 but i was too big and the extra size hurt me with my running.. i feel so much more functional at 180..

hope7,

10-12 pounds a year isn't too bad.. but if ur training hard and eating well u should be gaining anywhere from 10-20 a year..if u add creatine u should def be able to pack it on pretty quickly.. have u done a load yet? like 5g 5x a day for a week, and then cycle back down to 5-10g a day? this worked pretty well for me.. i used to just down it with some grape juice or with my gatorade while i was lifting.. but like i said it will add a lot of water in some people, in others lean muscle.. just depends on u and how long uv been training and the type of training u are doing.. what are ur goals? how much do u wanna weigh at 5'7?

i get my glutamine from meats and from the whey i drink in my shakes.. at this point im not as concerned with the supplements but they definitely help a lot when u are first starting out..

i always took them but didnt down them together, i dunno, im also interested in hearing why they are bad to take together?? i have on occasion but not extensively..

None at all, better focus on a right workout-routine with the right lifts/weights AND the right NUTRITION (enough protein AND enough calories).

If you do that you're all set and creatine/glutamine isn't any sort of magical powder that'll make your muscle grow a lot, it really just helps a tad bit, if at all and is by no means worth the money or possible health risks (don't nobody say there's no chance this stuff is unhealthy for your body, because you consume it in your daily nutrition already, b/c sometimes the amount can cause something to be healthy or not..so if there are no long-term studies, it's impossible to know if it can **** ur body up in the long-run....).

And in case I havent said it yet, this stuff doesn't work like a magical pill, focussing on the right nutrition has a way bigger impact.

I take a few grams of glutamine in the morning before I do low intensity cardio (empty stomach) and then on lifting days, I will take 5 grams of creatine monohydrate (Beverly version) with breakfast and another 5 with my post workout shake. I don't take creatine on off days and don't load.

The protein powder I use already has glutamine in it so I end up getting about 10 grams a day. I also use xpand by dymatize so I get 10 grams of creatine on workout days and 5 on off days. So far I'm liking the xpand alot myself. And if you're worried about bloating then don't take creatine monohydrate take creatine ethyl ester or cee. CEE doesn't need to attach to a water molecule to enter into your cells so it won't make you bloated.
