LOL. No actually 180 pounds for 8 reps is great. your only 165 pounds plus your only 22 years old. Wait until you hit 25 or 26 and get that man strength you will be benching alot more.

290 is pretty good. (Maybe not for powerlifters, but for someone who works out more for looks, it is excellent.)

My best is 250 x 3. But that was when I was 200lbs, now I'm 185 (5'10). Haven't tried a single with anything heavier, but I probably could have got 265 for one.

Chest/bench has always been my weakest part/lift. I'm comparatively a fair bit stronger on other lifts. I would LOVE to have a strong bench, like say 300 x 5. Maybe I'll get there. I'm cutting at the moment, so my strength is way down, so I'll have to wait a few more months at least.

Well actually the gym I go too there are alot of members that can bench 315 pounds. That was always one of my goals. I think in order for me to bench that much I would probably have to weigh about 210 pounds and would look way too pudgy.

Fkk it, if u have to get fat to do it. That's BS to me.

There's one guy at my gym who does 350 and he's about our size/height (but shredded). I STRONGLY suspect him of being on gear though. I mean, that kind of strength, and his workouts are not powerlifter style workouts, it's just very suspicious.. pretty cool if it's natural though.

i miss benching..i usually do 210 for 6-8 reps or 225 for 3-4 , i don't go to failure,usually leaving 2 in reserve.I like to keep it moderate in reps/weight.
I got my military press pretty good up there @ 185 for 1 rep and 160 for 5-6.
I'm a little guy too,i am only 140@5'7 lol

Damn dude that's bada55,wish I could hit 290!

What is your weight and how much do you bench?

Currently weigh 148 @ 9%(slowly dropping).

I have three different workouts for benching.

Dumbells;
-when I do four sets, 80lbx10 reps, 80lbx10, 85lbx8, 85x7(tyring for 8)

-Three sets(heavy) 80x10,85x8,90x6(trying for 8)

Barbell;

-in three sets, 185x10,205x8,225x5(trying for 8),for some reason when I go barbell I only want to go heavy.

I haven't maxed in almost a year,I would LOVE to try and hit 100+lb. dumbbells though. I wish I could but no spotter on chest day.

Some people are just naturally very strong.

No joke,I saw some guy barbell benching and check this out....He started off w/ 1 plate and added a plate a side every set,he did 4 sets. When he loaded the 8th plate I just stopped and watched,I had to see how many reps he was doing,he pushed out 4! Wtf?! I wonder what his max is!!!! Guy looked like he weighted about 220 or so,not too big but damn that guy was an Ox.

Bench is 240lbs at the moment, my progression has slowed right down. In 8 months it's only gone up 20lbs, although i'm happy with the way my body composition is changing. Stats: 5'7.5"-5'8", 215 lbs 9% bf.

I can squat about 200lbs. That hasn't got much to do with benching, though, does it!
And can deadlift 220lbs or more.
My penis is also very, very big.

I would say that guy with 405 x 4 would max around 450 probably.

As for me, I'm 5'11" weigh 168 and have done 195 x 10 for best for reps. The max charts say I should be able to do between 255-260, but my best 1 rep max is 245.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
