Didn't really wanna piggy back this.

But i wanna know how long to tan. I get a lot of direct sunlight (new mexico) and I don't really wanna overdo it. I think i'm just gonna throw on some spf 15 and sit out there for 30 front and 30 back. Is that to long or should i go longer?

Depends on your skin tone. I think it's best to gradually get tan over a period of days. This way you won't end up burning. So 30 minutes front and 30 back would probably be best.

who cares
it depends too on how strong the sun is that day or where you live is?

if the sun is really strong and youre very white with 15 mins you will burn.... like lets say for example in houston

the other day i was playing basketball outside without shirt and with about 30 mins i got red...i didnt burn, bc im really tan but i was close to

No SPF! Why is this so complicated??

You put on sunblock to BLOCK the sun!

The only reason why you'd want sunblock on is if you're going to be out in the sun for a long time anyway. If you're just going to lay out to tan, put no SPF on and lay out for 10 minutes (give or take depending on your skin type - hard with no picture). The next day, depending on how your skin reacted the first day, lay out a little more or less. Repeat.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

It's best to start out small and build yourself up. Say 20 minutes the first time you try it, and see if you redden up. If not, lay out for 30 the next day... if you're still good, try 40. So on and so forth. If you try overdoing it and lay out too long the first day, you're going to burn and have to wait for the peeling to stop before trying it again...

Slow & steady wins the race...

Yep, The Bishop is right. You need to take it steady, but once you build a light foundation tan then you'll find that you can spend longer in the sun and your skin reacts much better.

Also, moisturize your skin when you come in from the sun as this helps prevent peeling, dryness and premature ageing.

Spending even 30 minutes in the sun will burn and could cause more skin damage than spending all day in the sun. That was the latest research I heard. For example, those who take 30 minute lunch breaks and sit in the sun for their break are more prone to skin cancer than those who work in the sun all day.

If your in Australia, WATCH OUT. Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer per capita than any other country in the world!

What I said makes perfect sense. U just gotta learn to read.......

People who spend all day in the sun, apparently their skin becomes resilient to the sun and means their chances of getting skin cancer drop.

People who only expose themselves to the sun for say, one 30 minute block a day, u wont burn (as in go red), but your skin will be damaged and will give u a higher chance of getting skin cancer.

I am simply stating the latest research findings I have heard. I am no scientist and dont claim to be.

Oh I have to learn to read? I guess that's the same place they teach you how to spell the word "you" huh?

Maybe you should've made it more clear WHY it is that people who spend all day in the sun are at less risk for cancer, which you did in your second reply - the built up resistance to the sun (a tan) does this. Very interesting.

Its not that he needs to learn to read, but poor baby shiftkey likes things to be spoonfed to him because he doesnt like to think about what someone says.

It's not my fault that some people don't write clearly.

He said people who spend all day in the sun are at less risk for cancer. He said nothing about those people already having a tan. The way it was written, it sounded like it's bad for the average person to go into the sun for 30 minutes, but if that person stayed past 30 minutes it's magically good for him.

lol, I am not going to argue such a stupid topic. However Shift, u sure seem to have made your enemies around here.

As for writing clearly, others seem to have understood it.........but I can see your point.

THANK YOU! Geez, I don't know why I was getting attacked for this.

Just because I say something doesn't make sense to me, doesn't mean I'm flaming you.
