Fitness modeling is something I started getting interested in recently, but I'm not sure how I could get started. I've e-mailed a couple of men's fitness magazines here and there, but none of them have responded, particularly considering the fact that a lot of them seem to choose to feature celebrities on their covers. I'm just looking for a way to get my foot in the door. I definitely wouldn't make the cut with a magazine which prefers the wrestler/on-steroid/super muscular types because I'm more lean and toned. Unlike modeling and acting, there don't seem to be any open calls for aspiring fitness models, at least not that I've heard of. If anyone has some suggestions on how I could get started and get some exposure, I would be greatful. I'm particularly interested in fitness modeling agencies and opportunities on the East Coast-New York and Pennsylvania area.

That's because any cracker of the street can eat roids off and on for a few years and go from 175 to 260 without much hassle. They're everywhere man. Modeling takes an extremely rare look or connection, whereas acting takes talent and a lot of practice. Do you ever see local models or actors? Not up to par. There's a guy in my gym that looks like Mr. Zero. There you have it.

I forget who Mr. Zero was.. I couldn't find him on google cause I forgot if that was the right name. Dexter Jackson is a different example.

Re:

I've actually had quite some positive feedback from agents in my area as far as modeling goes. The only problem is PA is a relatively very small market with few modeling opportunities and New York is extremely hard to break into.

260 and cut without much hassle? Bullsh1t. That's a hassle even for the genetic elite.

Steroids are not magical. You don't just get to lift some fluffy weights once a week and go home and watch tv and get huge. Steroids don't do crap if you don't put the work in and even then they're not some panacea.

A LOT of people take steroids but you STILL don't see many huge people around. Even those on the roids mostly aren't dedicated enough or training properly to take advantage of them.
