In your area if you don't know anybody? Like how do you determine which hobby, interest group, etc will be good? Good meaning there are a lot of members and good chance to meet girls in your age group?

I want to bombard my life with hobbies but have no idea how to begin? Google isn't helping. I don't want to waste time and gas going someplace where there are only 2 members or it's all old people.

Trial and error, for the most part. You'll have to try out a lot of things for yourself to find out if they're worth your time.

Maybe your local newspaper will have a section about activities to get out and try, as mine does. Check the yellow pages or meetup.com. Look up acting and dance classes, or something like a health club. If you're living near any populated cities, the area should be bustling with ways to meet people.

Don't be afraid to call the organisers before attending any activities. Ask them the typical age group, gender, and volume of attendees. Consider organizing your own get-togethers about popular topics you're interested in.

And as long as you don't live in a bad area, don't assume that you always have to drive everywhere. Bus stops and on buses can provide great opportunities to meet people.

What do you like doing? Answer that question yourself and find a local club or group. Example: like football? Join a football club. Go to some games. Like fishing? Join a fishing club. You'll make friends over time. You'll make friends of friends.

Just figure out what you want:

1. Games - which games you want to pursue? indoor or outdoor? how much time does it warrant?
2. Art - cooking, painting, dancing, etc.
3. Professional - business workshops, career workshops, etc.
4. Self Improvement - Yoga, meditation, pilates, aerobics, weight training, public seminars, etc.

Next when you decide what you want to pursue, just go search your locality in the google for information. It should yank out the best for you.

For further information, ask your relatives, friends or neighbours. that's it.

Wrong mindset to have. You have to go in there not caring if there is only one person out there. The whole point is to meet people, have fun and gain experiences. There is no preset number of people required for this to happen. There are no bad clubs/events, just ones that end up as great stories to tell about that one time you went to an event and they 'tried to get you to donate blood so that their vampire club would be more realistic'

If you are like me, then you are accustomed to tuning out all the seemingly unimportant stuff as you go through your day to day life. When I decided I wanted to be more social I have had to actively look or keep an eye out throughout your day, such as:
- Posters on telephone poles/public transist/etc
- announcements on the radio
- Accepting flyers people hand out on the street
- Being willing to sift through a lot of spam and bs to find what I want (this is key online. You have to be patient when looking through event listings coz it is also prime real estate for spam and people who repost over and over)

Websites
Meetup.com
clubzone.com
eventful.com
craigslist.com

Also, I know you said you were unsuccessful with google but so was I initially. After I used it some more, with specific and general searches on my interests eventually something pops up.

I never heard of those two websites. Thank you.

Don't you like anything?

Wow that's insane! Find hobbies that relate to what you enjoy. Like for example, if you watch MMA on TV, you might wanna take up fighting. You know? Just relate things to what you enjoy.

What is wrong with videogames? I play them all the time and still date girls the caliber that you only see in magazines. Getting gorgeous girls is all about location.

Bombard your life with hobbies?

Bad idea. You don't want to be bombarded with hobbies; you want to adopt new hobbies gradually so you don't overload yourself.
Take it one hobby at a time if you're starting out with a clean slate.

If you want to meet girls, try something that girls like to do.
Dance lessons are very useful. Girls want to know how to dance well and I'm sure lots of guys do too. Especially those with two left feet.

If you have a specific type of girl that you like, figure out what they would probably like to do (based on previous girls you've liked.) For example, if you like artsy girls, take a painting class. If you like athletic girls, sign up for a recreational sport. It's a no-brainer!

I will give you two really helpful things to keep in mind:
1. Know EXACTLY what you want.
2. Find out EXACTLY how to get it.

I'd advise you to do something you are passionate about. Even if it's stamp collecting, if you show a girl your badass stamp collection and tell her amazing stories about them, you will surely have her attention.

I think he means, stop playing videogames as a habit. As a past time I game once in awhile too. It's fun and doesn't stop socializing.

Everything in moderation. Videogames are easy to get addicted to.

Some of my hobbies:
sketching
guitar
photography
photoshop
gaming
fixing sh*t. mostly my car, bike... etc.
biking
building and messing around with computers.
reading up on business, science, things of interest.
hiking
etc.... obviously not all at once. some I do more than others.

Some things that didn't work as hobbies:
piano
basketball
skateboarding
building circuit boards
and a bunch of other things I tried that didn't seem to stick. I forget.

When did I say I ever played video games?

I'm going to make lifting weights a hobby. I have a certain image in my mind of what I want to be and I want to really focus on getting there.

I could try painting. I like artistic stuff.

I want to learn cooking too since I cook the same stuff over and over again.

So, maybe I should start off with three hobbies: fitness, painting, and cooking.

Try all kinds of things, from philosophy to catfishing. Look at each new experience as an adventure. That's how I got into wrestling, kayaking, and NAGA fighting.

Edit: cooking for sure, something I've been doing slot also.
