How do you calm yourself before a first date?

Got a first date tomorrow, and I'm fairly excited for it. And I'm pretty sure she's not gonna flake on me (yes, finally) since she called twice in the last 2 days to make sure we were still on (though we did need to postpone our meeting til later in the evening since she had a late meeting come up). But anyways, I don't think I should be too excited when I meet her (I know I'll screw up somehow), so any ideas guys?

I can help you out here, as I just went on a first date last week:

1.) Be mentally prepared. Know where you're going, what you plan on doing, etc. Think of some good conversation starters. If you try to wing it, you're going to be more nervous.

2,) Get a good night's sleep beforehand. Rest will calm you down.

3.) Before the date, play some music you like that gets you ready to go. I wouldn't recommend something like Metallica or Iron Maiden, but something that puts you in a good mood will do the trick.

4.) Take a deep breath. You're the one in control. No way you can go wrong.

Good luck man, let us know how it goes.

yeah, I don't want to look nervous. I am a bit but I know I'll be even more when I'm waiting for her. We're going out for coffee, and maybe a real drink if she doesn't need to be home early.

Agreed. Not only should you plan, but also make backup plans. When taking a girl out, always have a Plan B in case sh!t happens.

Then of course never talk about any of your preparation while with the girl. It will be obvious when things go well. Always know what you want to do. Women are natural followers.
