How do you become a moderator?

How can yo become a moderator? What is the moderator's job? I guess the best people to answer this question would be the mods themselves.

Apply when there is a need for moderators. An announcement will be made saying this site needs more moderators, so you just email in your qualifications.

The job consists of closing off topic posts, moving posts to the right forum, sending warning PM's to people who are out of hand, deleting spam, and trying to keep the peace around here.

(With the exception of Paradox and sometimes Prosemont) you just have to be a worthless tool with nothing better to say. It's the best way to get some of the old guys who have nothing interesting to say anymore to leave the board by forcing them to moderate the board. Thus after a while they get fed up and leave.

Also you must be completely disagreeable at all times, show no sign of emotion in any post you make. Simultaneously keep a thread open and closed with the use of quantum physics in order to not make any member upset at the closure of theirs or another persons thread. Be able to take abuse from every member because everyone hates you.

I would have closed "Sylvester Stallone Was a DJ in Robocop" but only after adding my own comment in the thread making the person who posted it look stupid by telling them that Peter Weller played Robocop - Sylvester Stallone never appeared once in the movie.

Then again, I'm harsher when it comes to that sort of stuff... makes me wonder why everyone always picks on you, Gio.
