The guys that get into that are beasts...any dude that roams around sosuave.net is not fit for that area.

Try something else. Tennis?

Hahaha good one.

Anyway, my brother is into the whole MMA thing and trains like 5 days a week. He's still working on his game and trying to get stronger. Then he will compete in some amateur tournaments and go from there. If you are really interested then find a good gym (shouldn't be that hard it's FL). I think American Top Team fights out of Florida.

You get invited usually, you need to have a good record and experiance from other organizations. Once you get a contract and win, your set. BTW what weight class are you?

You have to start out in small local fights where they don't even pay money, just trophies, and they usually have some UFC fighters like Rich Frankin, Matt Hughes, Chris Leben, Melvin Gillard come to the shows and see if there is any talent fighting, and if you get good enough, it's not unheard of for them to invite you to come train with them. Matt Hughes and Rich Franklin are at the fights here in Kentucky on more than one occassion. Maybe because they live a couple hours away in Illinois and Cincy, Ohio. You have to be REALLY REALLY good though, like a champion at that low level to even have a chance really. You can't just be average. This is how it works where I live anyway.
