Hey guys, im doing winter track and i want to get bigger. Im doing mid-distance but the coach is thinking about tranning me with the distance group. THey go to the weight room 3 times a week but they as skinny as a stick. Im bigger than them right now. Im 6'1 or 6'2, 160lbs.

We do 2 sets of 15 pushups everyday along with 2 sets of 40 secs situps.

DIESEL said, in Guide to Bulking up, NOT TO DO CARDIO. Well, that explains why the distance runners are so skinny. Any advice would be appriciated.

I did distance track too and got pretty big during that time, went from 130 - > 145 at 5'7'' with about 8-9% bf

The key is to eat a LOT and lift way more than 30 pushups per day, that's weak. IDK what your coach is thinking but ours had us do 100 pushups, medball, crunches, and lifting daily after practice.

So in short, eat a lot and lift after practice and you should either stay the same weight while dropping bf or go up 5-10 pounds, gl.

Sounds to me like your goal is to increase your leg muscle mass while at the same time remaining quick and lean. Eating proper is key; "you are what you eat".
It's not just about eating a lot, it's about eating a lot of 'clean' foods. Stick with lean animal proteins, unsaturated fats, and non-processed, complex carbs.
Try your best to eat every 2-3 hours in order to be in a constant state of digestion throughout the day. Don't expect gains overnight, gotta keep at it..
