How can I become known at college?

Ok, I've got a major problem. Nobody at this school knows who the **** I am! I get lots of looks from girls and I hear them ask their friends, "who's that?" But, honestly, nobody except for like 5 people here know my name. I make a good impression on nearly everyone I actually talk to, but I don't talk to many people.

I go to a small school, where it's like high school. You've got your cool cliques and what not, and I don't think the cool clique is open to new memberships right now. I need to do something to get known!

The main problem is I'm almost always seen alone! I only have like one friend that I regularly hang out with here. Granted, my situation is getting better as I'm meeting lots of people through my friend and we are going out to party as often as possible. Everyone sticks to their little groups, though. It's hard to mingle.

So, what I need are some tips on how to do something crazy or whatever I need to do to get my name out there and get people talking to me. Ideas?

Just keep on chugging, try to meet new people... If everybody is cliqueish, try not to let it bother you... if some people start treating you like "why are you talking to me?" Just walk away, there are others. Why would you wanna hang out with snobs like that anyway?

It may seem hard, but just work on having conversations... if you can ask them what they are doing in the weekend kinda things, where they hangout, etc.

It's not what its' made out to be.

Every college has that street where all the Frats and Sorority houses are. Pick a good night and streak down the street.

People will want to know you after that.

Seriously.

People will think your a fun loving guy and that will help you become one.

I'm a freshman in college right now. Now, my school is ****ing huge, so it's a different situation, but I talk to pretty much everybody. Everybody's really friendly, and I've found that being the person who initiates conversation will make you a well liked guy.

good question, this is THE most important thing to pick up chicks. U think David Beckam, Brad Pitt or Leonardo Dicaprio are "really" the best looking guys in the world?? Nooooooooooo way, they just have a reputation. This is what makes them so popular with the ladies.

If I were you i would just create a funky style that makes u stand out, get a funky haircut, wear European fashions, and date a real hot chick. Do this and u will create a reputation for yourself.

Lemieux66 hit it dead on. Also, don't be that guy that never says anything in class. Classes are a great way to make friends. Esecially at a small school. So speak up in class, talk to peeps before and after class. And go to parties.

Find the toughest guy in the coolest clique, walk up to him, and punch his lights out.

You could do it the slow way, and put yourself out there. You have to talk to people everywhere. Go to all the parties, join any club that seems interesting, speak up in all your classes. If you're smart, you can build a reputation as the "smart one" in your classes. (Make sure that you show your fun side everywhere else, if you do that. You don't want to be the nerd.) If you're smart and cute, girls will come and ask you for help. Don't spend your free time in your dorm room. Hang out places where other people are.

And you need to make male friends as well as female friends. You've got to be able to get along with everyone.

Does your scholl have sports teams? It's usually a good way to get known.

Also, if there are some kind of "thematic clubs" (computer club, surf club and so on), you try to join one of those. You'll meet more people there, and those can get you into parties where you can meet more people and so on.
