Hey there! I have a few questions about simple exercises one can do at home, to improve ones body.

Situation:
I live on a farm, no where near any form of Gym / swimming pool. A lot of the threads posted in this forum usually relate to Gym workouts and all the like. My question to you sosuave, is what are some simple routines I can do at home, to gain some muscle value and lose a bit of this extra body fat.

I guess you could say, I want to cut up with out attending a Gym. I'm not too smart on the topic of health and fitness, so bare with my lack on knowledge on the matter.

As for foods, how do I know how much calories I'm consuming? I read over the Cutting Up thread and didn't find it much help to my current situation.

I have checked my stomach plenty of times; when I tense and pull down on the fat on my stomach, I can see my abdominal muscles! They're there, but how do I get the fat off so they're more visible!

As for arms; to me they seem in alright. Generally firm with defined shape. Not perfect, but better than that of my stomach / chest.

My chest is my most concerning area. I fear I am to require a Gym in order to bring this one to reality, but here goes. Pecks. The inner chest (middle) seems non existant of muscle. I've always wondered what would you do to increase ones chest muscles with out attending a Gym. I'm not sure if this is possible, but worth a try asking!

When helping on the farm, milking is usually a solid work out for the arms and upper back and chest. Doing this for 3 or so hours twice a day, definately does some stuff; just not where I want it worked on as much.

Anyways, thanks to all and anyone that can help <3.

Ahh well! I guess this is more of a Gym and serious work out forum. I'll just stick to a few sit ups and some pushups at night before I sleep. Haven't been bothered with running, been too cold :(.

Thanks anyways guys! <3

You should buy yourself a set of dumbells and either make/buy a bench.

Some good sites I googled for you (Notice: These links are posted so you can copy the technique on how to use dumbells, not on how to get your chest big in x amount of days. Plan your own excercise approach):
http://www.muscletech.com/FEATURES/IMPRESSIVE_CHEST/Impressive_Chest.shtml
http://www.fightingarts.com/forums/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000201.html
http://www.intense-workout.com/chest_exercises.html

By the way, in the second link there are some posts on different approaches to push ups. Look into it.

If you look around you're sure to find a few good sites with more exercises you can perform with dumbells. Also, if you have money to spend you can buy more stuff then just dumbells. It just depends on your situation. I wish you the best of luck.

If I were you I'd invest in a pair of dumbbells and a bench. Possibly a barbell as well and some weights that will fit on both of them.

That's an investment that will last you a lot longer than a gym membership card and will make training a lot more accessible (I have a pair of dumbbells but have always lacked a bench until I moved into a dormitory which has a small workout room with a bench which makes a world of difference.

with dumbbells, a barbell and a bench you should be able to train pretty much every part of your body.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

I have absolutely no idea of what farm life must be like, but from my misconceptions and generalizations, I'd imagine that if you eat right, help your father out with the daily chores, and do some cardio every day you'll have no problem getting fit within a few short months... then again, I could be completely off base.
