Ok.. well I know that even though a lot of the material on this site focuses on "outer game", there is still a decent amount which pertains to "inner game", which is great. In summary, inner game deals with how a man perceives himself, and focuses on the limitations he puts on himself. Most of the material on this site focuses on different ways of thinking, trying to "fool" yourself into believing that you are something you're not. Well, I've never been a believer in that philosophy. You are smarter than you think, and sooner or later, your identity is gonna crack. This idea was further reinforced when today in my psych class, I learned about the "Hierarchy of Needs" which is a legitimate and widely accepted psychological theory which deals with the necessities of improving one's "self."
Now... I know no one really likes to read a lot of boring and repetitive info (including myself ;]) , soooo I'll try to keep this as short and concise as possible without losing any information. Basically, Maslow's "Hierarchy of Needs" theory states that in order for someone to satisfy their inner needs of "self-actualization", or as we would call it.. "inner game", a series of more primitive needs must be accomplished first.
He creates a pyramid, in which inner game is at the top, and the only way to reach a solid state of mind, to to build a solid foundation with more basic needs. The base of the pyramid consists of primitive needs, such as food, water, breathing, sleeping, and sex. Once a person completes his or her basic needs of survival, their next foremost concern is their personal safety. The person much practice self-preservation, as well as the safety of family and possessions. The next level of the pyramid indicates that a sense of love and "acceptance" must be established with people, and meaningful relationships and friendships must be formed. With this, self-esteem will improve along with confidence and you will gain the respect of others. After all of these tasks are accomplished (and only then), one is able to focus on self-actualization and creating a new mind state. Here is where the inner game comes into play.
Once you actually better yourself and your life, you will become a naturally more confident person, which commands respect from your peers. Being the alpha-male, the women will follow, and your game will SKYROCKET. Personally, I used this philosophy before I even learned about it, and it works. I focused on my studies, improving my grades and allowing myself to get accepted into a university with a large scholarship. I started working out and lifting weights to get into better shape physically. I started becoming friends with everyone around me, even people I wasn't particularly fond of. Eventually, the pieces all fell together, and one day I realized how great of a life I had built for myself. And the girls... well... that hasn't been a problem. As they say... "Focus on yourself, the girls will come." And they will.
Well.. I hope you all got something out of this. Basically, focusing on the improvement of your own life will ultimately lead to a permanently better situation with girls, and your life in general. I have a picture of the pyramid so you can see how Maslow constructed his theory. Enjoy, and good luck!
