I have been dating this girl for a while and everything has been fine between us. The problem is her ex is being very AFC and won't leave her alone. Last night he calls and says that he wants to kick my ass. I'm usually not the type to back down from a fight but this dude is a lot bigger than me(I'm about 5"11 180lbs and he is about 6"3 250lbs) and has a rep for beating people up. I don't know what to do because I don't wanna look like a ***** and back down but I also don't wanna get my ass beat trying to look tough. Any suggestions on how I should handle this.

It depends how serioulsy you take his threats..If your scared then just report him to the police, you obviously cant fight him, and i DEF dont suggest you carry weapons on you to protect yourself, not a good idea at all.

But i can understand that you want to look like a MAN in front of her, but what can i say man. Maybe she'll respet the fact that you didnt iniate the violence or escalate it.

If you file a report that you have been threatened, you are covering yourself for later. If you have already filed the report and the cops get called to a disturbance where he is at your home or work, they are going to come up and kick his ass without asking any questions. If you have not filed a report, they have no way of knowing that he attacked you - it is your word against his, and even worse he could bring his own lying witness to the fight. You could be the one who ends up in jail after he jumps on you.
btw, his activity thusfar is almost certainly criminal, and the police should be interested in that.
