Hey, I've been out of the whole DJ mentality for the last few months because of work and girlfriend. I've mostly lost contact with my friends and am not very used to socializing with people so much anymore. I thought a good way to get back in the swing of things and reestabslih myself in social circles would be to throw a party.
I'm thinking of having it next Friday and having it Mardi Gras themed.
Keep these things in mind:
I'll be having it at my apartment which can't hold any more than 13 people so it will be relatively small.
The people I'll be inviting will be people I don't know very well or have lost contact with. So I don't want to plan anything too outrageous.
The people that will be coming are not big partiers. So again, nothing too outrageous. (This includes the whole bead thing. Not that I would be against it, but I'm not going to be the first to suggest it)
My "girlfriend" will be there. And while I don't intend on marrying her, I don't want to do anything to create problems with that.
The average age of everyone there will be about 21 or 22
I'm planning on just inviting about everyone who I have still listed on my phone. Most probably won't come, but since I can only hold about 13 people that should work out.
I'm planning on finding 2 or 3 mixed drink recipes in addition to supplying plenty of beer. Probably food too, any suggestions?
The only decent party game I can find is beer pong. What else might be a good game for a group of strangers?
Should I provide some decorations?
What else would you suggest to make this party a hit?
