So GF looks at my suede Rockport wingtips the other day and says "that's cute that we both wear Rockports. Heather (one of her friends) always teases me that they are old people shoes but they are sooo comfy". Time for new shoes!!

These are my "go to work meeting" and "date night" shoes so they should go well with jeans or business casual. My budget is around $150. I have looked on Ebay and Amazon, here is my wish list:
- wingtip with some brogue
- at least a 1" heel - I am shorter than GF so a little height helps
- not too shiny leather
- something a little more masculine, less banker or stockbroker
- black
- comes in wide width (I am 10.5 or 11 E)

These kinda fit the bill:
Clarks on Ebay

What are you all wearing?

im currently rocking these in the lighter tanish color. I can wear them with nicer dress pants or jeans. I like the edge a boot gives over a shoe.

I used to wear redwing logger work boots exclusively when I thought I was a bad@ass. These are a good compromise between boot and shoe for me.

Man, shopping for a wide size shoe is so irritating. I too have a wide foot, but to make matters worse, mine are 6.5 EEE. Most probably don't recognize that as an issue, so let me just point out that "Men's fashion" is from size 8 and up, generally. If Vulpine needs shoes, he's shopping for them in a non-existent "kid's fashion" section. I've had good luck with the in-between Euro sizes of Doc Martens, so I've ordered from their site quite a bit. It's that, or shop in the women's section and rock women's shoes.
(It's happened before *shrug*)

Back in my more "metro" days, a smooth-dressed "wing" of mine highly suggested Allen Edmunds, as they offered narrow/wide sizing, not to mention a premium quality shoe.

After stopping into a couple of their outlets, I've resigned myself to get a couple pairs after I wear out my current Doc Martens ...which will be a while, since I keep them highly polished and rarely have the occasion to wear them out here in Hillbilliesville.

I wish these boots came in a "6.5 EEE", otherwise, it's an "add to cart" no-brainer:

Allen Edmunds wing-tip boots

(^^^ logicallefty, you click there, too! ^^^)

Otherwise, check out the Doc Martens website. I'd try a few on in-person to make sure that the "one half Euro size up" would work for you in terms of your wide size:

A "dressy" DM, for example.

Cole Haan is getting a little more edgy looking as well as still having some traditionals.

I absolutely hate shoe shopping, so I settled on a pair of badass Harleys:

Put a shine on these motherfvckers, and they stand out. Panties get wet once women realize I'm wearing Harleys.

And these things are made to last. I've had my pair for the last 3 years and I wear them every day. They have very little wear on them. I've got an itch to get another pair or two.

Just my size and fit too

Besides that, my favorite makers are Crockett and jones.

I'm always asked by guys about my pair of islays and girls love my highburys (which I can wear to just about anything)

Once I start Rollin in dough I'll throw on a pair of John lobbs n shlt
Thanks MC, just bought them......

Des, that's a good idea, and I do ride so it makes sense. Might have to do a little shopping.... Do you wear those with pants other than jeans? I saw these and they look like a good dress/casual version: http://r.ebay.com/ErGpVp

Though I generally stay away from boots because they make my feet hot and are a PITA when I go through airport security.

EDIT: http://amzn.com/B00FA5MZWQ SCORE I ordered the brown, if I like them I'll get the black too..... Thanks for sending me down the right path Des!!!!

Not at all. I have a more dressy pair of shoes if I need them. They have a more square toe since my feet aren't pointy. They look something like this:

I generally don't like the look of most dress shoes either. I think the square toe looks more masculine anyway.

I usually wear some sort of jeans when I go out, so the Harleys go with mostly whatever I wear.

Red Wing boots are the world's best. Especially the ones with the white sole.

So my AE shoes from ebay arrived today. They look brand new.

However, they are more narrow than I expected. I normally wear 10.5E or 11D. These are 10.5E but feel a bit tight in the width, right at the widest part of my foot. Perhaps they will stretch? I ordered some shoe trees today and I will give them a few wears, if they are too uncomfortable I'll put them back on eBay.
