Hey guys. I am 18 right now (turning 19 next yr) and at the height of 5'9, I only weigh about 125 lbs. I have been stressing to put on some weight but I dont have such a good appetite and I get tired of food too easily. My dad was even skinnier when he was my age so I guess its genetic. Is there ANY where I can gain weight easily? Like some supplements? or some food that will help a lot? Homecoming and Prom is coming up and I want to look my best.

I had the same problem at the same age.. what you need to do is pig out. Go get a subway (they have lots of carbs), eat meats & proteins.

The best suppliment is called Creatin. Go to your local GNC or whatever to buy it. But the thing is you must workout with this; you dont have to go to the gym but you can do pushups, situps, and use a chair for dips. You MUST drink LOTS OF WATER when you take this.. otherwise you will just get bloated.

Your going to have to increase your appetite.. do this by stuffing yourself so that your stomach feels full like you just ate an entire turkey at Thanksgiving, this will stretch out your stomach and cause your appetite to increase.

Go to the gym. Exercise your large muscle groups such as thighs, chest, back...Leg exercise is the most effective way to stimulate your appetite and body system and thus gaining weight.

Yeah... don't listen to Seeph. Creatine is just going to be a waste of your money at this point. You don't want water that gives you a "fake" big, you wanna get bigger.

You need to do as the other guys said, start hitting the gym, and stimulate muscle growth. The reason your body is skinny is because you do nothing to shock it into building muscle, and you are fortunate to have a metabolism that doesn't store much fat.

If you start lifting, and do it intense, your body will respond by building muscle, and making you bigger. In addition, you'll eat more, because you'll be more hungry.

So go get swoll!

well gaining muscle is great. BUt I just dont wanna stay boney and skinny. Cuz I konw people that dont excerse a BIT and then when they a shirt on, they look pretty built and in shape. And if I workout right now, I think I'll just be VERY VERY cut but I wanna put on some decent weight first, and then workout so I can get BIG.

There's a sticky at the top of the forum for bulking up. Pretty good.

By the way, it takes awhile to gain some good lean mass. So you're still going to be a toothpick when prom comes around. Don't stress it. Just have fun, you already got the date.

It's a bad idea to "gain weight" and then start working out, mostly because I think that gaining weight and getting fat will just keep you lazy and you might not move onto the working out portion.

Find a friend to work out with, and then do just that. Who cares if you're the skinny guy at the gym who can bench 40 pounds? When you're done, go home, eat a lot of pasta and some whey, and put a couple of potatoes in the oven.

You're making excuses for yourself, and I'm going to tell you something: your problems are nothing special. I used to be the guy with little appetite and little motivation. Start eating more, and it's a habit you'll fall into. I'm hungry right now and I just had a big bowl of oatmeal.

you have to eat big to get big. that doesn't mean "pig out". eat good foods. try to consume roughly 1.5 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight. eat foods like eggs, tuna, oatmeal, whole wheat bread, natural peanutbutter, cottage cheese. don't have processed food because its high gi. high gi = digested quickly, and whatever is not used is stored as fat. lower gi foods like oatmeal are good sources of carbs.

don't depend on supplements, they are really overrated. all you need is whey protein. consume a couple scoops of whey protein in water post workout. if taken it milk, it will slow the digestion, which you don't want.
