I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on an exercise(s) I could do to get rid of the spare tire around my lower stomach.

I've been hitting the gym 3-4 times a week sense August 2006 and running 3-5 miles 2-3 times week sense June of 2006. I also do 180 crunches everytime I go the gym. The crunches seem to be helping my upper stomach, but the lower looks the exact same...

What can I do for the lower too?

Thanks much! :-D

Do low intensity cardio(treadmill walking) 6 days a week for 45min-1hour first thing in the morning after a protein shake.

Cut carbs off 3hours before you go to bed
Only take in low GI carbs
Take green tea pills 3-6 a day

spend some time searching through this forum on weight & body fat loss, and ask some more specific questions.

you cannot spot reduce fat. you will remove fat from that part of your body as you lose fat overall, and according to your genetics. for many guys, that gut is the last thing to go. but you don't attack the 'tire' itself, rather you up your lean muscle mass and lose bodyfat at the same time.

no amount of crunches can get rid of bodyfat. you probably have a solid set of abs at this point sitting underneath a layer of bodyfat. though you can probably get the same workout done more quickly with 2 or 3 sets of 10-20 weighted situps (plus it will hit your entire ab wall along with your hip flexors, whereas the crunches are very focused)

make sure your lifting regime includes big compound exercises, especially for you legs & back, and take effort's suggestions seriously along with others you find in this forum (look for posts by warboss alex, especially).
