Alright, I'll let you know right off the bat that I'm 14 and in 8th grade so take that in mind.

I've known a girl for a long time, but in the last year or so I've talked to her a lot, gotten to know her a ton, even just last night IM'd until 3:15 in the morning, and she's great and all, but her mom is...restrictive. So much that we can't really do anything, even exchanging gifts this Christmas she could only get me a card. Pretty lame. Since we can't do anything, I'm slipping very quickly into the LJBF zone, not a good place to be. Any ideas or help appreciated, thanks.

Don't try to play the parent-dodging game. I can say from experience that your relationship, if you start one, will get out of the starting blocks with a bad limp. On the other hand, you'll just slowly drip into LJBF zone.

If you really like this girl, NOW is the time to make your move. Best thing you could do is get to know her parents. Make a good impression and all. If things don't work out, take it in hand and learn from it. If her mom really is that restrictive, a relationship yesterday or tomorrow wouldn't have worked either. Just go ask her out, nothing major.

Best of luck to you, young one.

Make your move now or next her. Your in 8th grade so its not the end of the world if nothing comes of it, but atleast you're out there getting experience. Just ask her out.
