I currently live in a dorm at University, and I have a game console hooked up to my TV.

If I think a might be able to get a girl back to my room, should I hide it in advance?

Is it likely to be interpreted as a sign of nerdishness or immaturity, which might turn her off?

No way man. Almost all guys own video game systems, starting from when they were little. If it's one of the things that you enjoy doing, why should you care what a girl thinks?

Now, if you have like...a Halo lair complete with cardboard cutouts and headsets galore with your online name printed all over the room, then you could scale back. But seriously, don't worry about it. Heck, she might even want to play something with you (but let her suggest it).

Back in the day it might've been an iffy thing, but these days it's not an issue at all. Loads of people have them. Shouldn't be an issue.

There is not wrong with it at all. Just be sure to have a couple of games that girls will like to play with you. Mario Kart, Wii sports, Rockband etc.

Now if I could only figure out how to transition from Mario Kart into sex...

Core issue: Feeling comfortable in your own skin. Everyone has this issue, and they feel like they need to prove themselves to other people - we feel as if parts of our lives, like playing games or whatever, is a drawback. Ever meet a cool guy who embraced himself fully? Who didn't hesitate when someone asked him what games he likes, or other hobby or lifestyle-related questions? THAT is the guy you wanna be.

A well rounded man likes a lot of different things and is ashamed of none of them.

In a college guy's place, it would almost be more unusual for him not to have a video game system, I'd imagine.

My only advice is try to have multiplayer games there. I love playing Mario Kart on the Wii or Rock Band, and have had some great nights with groups of friends playing them.

Alright CatB. Since you are a female coming to a mans forum, you must introduce yourself and tell us about you. We need to know what we're dealing with.

To go from Mario Kart into sex, just get a banana and share it with her. Have her throw the banana peel on you and then spin out onto her! Do it smooth or you'll rank out! It helps to use a Starman!

Never use a lightning bolt or your drive and your speed will shrink drastically.

If she says anything about it, just shrug and say it's your roommate's game system.

But seriously, if that's all it takes to turn her off then she's a nut case to begin with.
