I've been on both diets and absolutely love them, I have more energy and my abs come through.

Downside is the couch crashing after a carb up. And trying to eat your fruit and veggies.

Yeah I read that. Good stuff.

I'm getting the tiredness too. From what I understand its caused by the body trying to use carbs for energy and their aren't any in there (at least less then 30g/day worth). So hopefully it'll adapt/convert to using fat soon.

Are you still on the anabolic diet, if not how long were you on it for? How long did it take you to get 'fat adapted', ie when did the tiredness go away?

I've heard it takes like 3 weeks. And with my work and lifestyle, there are better options for me.

3 weeks you say? The highest I've seen including from stronglifts says it takes 1-2weeks max. I think I'd quit if it took 3 weeks for me too.. lol (hoping thats seriously not the case).

The biggiest problem I'm running into right now is I didn't realize soooo many things have carbs in them! Some of the beef meals I cooked last week I added bbq sauce, with peanuts, raisins and pineapple. All of those have frekin carbs in them! Even soy sauce has carbs.. sheesh. This is going to take some time to get use to.

I don't want to go crazy counting.. so I eat veggies, (only count as 2g carbs per cup for brocolli and 4g carbs/cup for green beans) and limit myself to only 1 meal from that batch a day (Its anal.. but I also remove/don't eat the pineapple from said batch).

I'm not on it anymore because of money issues but I was on the anabolic for about 4 months then went to a Warboss Alex T-dwag variation for 2 months.

I was tired the first month then had more energy then ever. I was mostly adapted at 2 weeks and after a month toilet functions were normal.

Even though I'm not on it now Im definitely still fat adapted. I just can't handle any carbs. I only eat carbs when I know it's OK to have a couch crash.

does HIIT burn fat faster then the anabolic diet or vice versa? maybe even a combination of both?

They both burn fat in different ways.
HIIT speeds up your metabolism while the anabolic diet changes your metabolism to prefer burning fat rather then carbs for energy. Sure one could combine them to burn fat faster.

Stronglifts says combining HIIT with anabolic is not a good idea. HIIT eats up your GI stores like crazy, and since you're pretty much out of GI by mid week you're gonna go catabolic if you do HIIT.

Interesting.. do you have a link?

Its just that I've read that while on the anabolic diet people usually report having a lot more energy and enhanced endurance (cardio) as the body now uses fat for fuel (and thus has a surplus of energy as we all have fat on us).

High intensity activities use glycogen. You need the glycogen for strength training. You should breathe heavier than when at rest, but not gasping. Let the cardio burn fat. HIIT is high intensity. It will empty your carbs stores fast.

Ahh.. ok. Now I understand.
