Hardboiling eggs

Whenever I harboil eggs I get this green discoloration of the outside edge of the yolk. How can I advoid this?

you're cooking them a little too long and the iron & sulfur in them is oxidizing. two easy solutions: don't cook them as long; or, place them in a cold water bath when the time is up. incidentally, the latter solution often makes them a bit easy to peel if you're going to peel them right away, but makes them slimier if you plan to open them later.

I tried hardboiled eggs yesterday, for the second time in my life. The first time I forgot to cool the eggs before eating, so the shells were very annoying and sticky.

Yesterday, I cooled them properly but encountered a different problem :)

Normally I can eat 9-12+ eggs in one sitting without feeling full and its no problem, but with hardboiled eggs I got to around 6 or 7 and that was about as many as I could eat at one time. Also, I had very bad gas for the rest of the day that smelled like egg :p

I've given hardboiled eggs a chance, but they really just don't do it for me.. I'll stick to my scrambled eggs or raw eggs when in a hurry :up:
