Nothing really. Just get the program, read it, develop your own program (from his base system), and then go to the gym and workout. No need to ask for anything (except application to sign up for a membership at the gym of course).

But what if a gym doesnt have free weights, or free weights in the weight u require?

Is it a given that ALL gyms have EVERYTHING you need?

What I would do is visit the gym at peek hours. 6:00p to 7:00p. See how crowded it is.

How often to they clean thier equipment. Nothing worse than dirty, smelly, benches.

Get a free trial membership. Most gyms will give you a few days to a week. My Ex tried 4 different gyms for a month and a half and never paid a dime to any of them. (But being blonde with big t1ts kind of helped).

Also, read the contract before you sign. Is there a cancelation fee? Set up fee? etc...Any deals for paying up front? With mine, if I pay the whole year upfront, they give me a couple of free months. This year I got 15 months for 12.

There's tons of web sights too on joining a gym...

Yeah silverwex go down and check the gyms out yourself bro. I know some real sh!t gyms that don't even have barbells..

And you need barbells for bench and squats.

I use the skinnygut.net routine religiously. Here is the equipment I would recommend a decent gym have to use that routine. Yeah, most of this is pretty obvious stuff but I'm trying to be all-inclusive.

Squat cage/rack - You really need to do squats on this routine, and you really need this to do them safely. If they don't have this, move on.
Flat bench. (I don't use incline or decline, but some do.)
A wide range of dumbbells
Lat pull down station
Leg extension machine
Leg curl machine
EZ-curl bar
A stand for straight legged deadlifts and bent-over rows...you could just use the floor but I prefer the stand.
Calf-raise station, seated or standing
A place to do dips
Barbell shoulder press rack
Am I forgetting something?

Good luck!
