Hey guys...
Okey dokey...
A cute girl started working out at the gym a few months back. Average in looks...but a GREAT body (probably a gymnast or into track). Figure she is a college student...so younger than me.
She keeps to herself BIG TIME.
She makes an effort to NOT engage anyone. She keeps her eyes down...she looks away when people walk by, or simply remains on her phone texting in between sets. I have NEVER seen her talk to anyone, and the gym we go to is pretty laid back and friendly.
I figure she is just like me...limited time...concentrating on workout, etc.
Turns out she also lives in my building.
I have attempted being friendly/engage in convo OUTSIDE the gym (when I pass by her at our building...or when she is leaving the gym, and I am entering)...but she is STILL in this zone of not wanting to engage.
When I have said "hi"...or asked how she is...or wished her a good day...or attempt some sort of friendly engaging convo...EVERY response in monotone, singular, or unemotional.
She leaves NO opportunity for further engagement.
She knows by now that we live in the same building...and that I have been friendly towards her...
The other day was weird.
We passed RIGHT each other on some steps leading from by building. As she approached, she kept her eyes/head down, said nothing...no eye contact...and we ended up passing each other not saying anything at all...like RIGHT by each other.
It is not like I did not want to...it just felt weird trying to engage her, as she was purposefully showing me she did not WANT to engage.
One can say, "ah...she is probably just super shy"...but I would argue that even the shyest girl in the world still knows how to work it...especially if there is a guy she is interested in...or at the very least interested in talking to.
On one side, it is a turn off...on the other side intriguing and challenging.
I am a good looking guy, and I am ripped...but I am not a "Brad Pitt" type where a girl would be nervous, or shy around me for being a rock hard piece of man-candy....haha
Part of me feels like I am wasting my time, and anything more "aggressive" will be shot down regardless.
Thoughts on this?
Mike
