But if you did ask her out and she dated the other guy instead, you will come across like you got your feelings hurt. It'll only hurt your game. She will know she has some power over you and could play a few games and manipulate you.

Never focus on one chick, always have multiple options. You could use this one as social proof, plus does she have any friends?
