I guess in life, if you don't give everything a try, you're going to miss out on a lot.

What are some of the things you missed? And what would you be doing to make sure you don't miss it again in future?

Here's my stuff:

-I met a guy called Robert Kiyosaki through a friend, and we talked a bit. I found his concepts interesting, but didn't really take notice.

-I was friends with this guy in high school, and he said we should build an internet company together. I did, but quit because I got lazy. His company eventually went public and he's set for life.

-Someone said I should invest in Telstra (a blue chip company with very low risk). I didn't. Its stocks doubled.

Well that's really about it. A tribute to why we shouldn't ignore opportunity when it comes knocking.

the first one i cannot blame you, cause maybe you simply had a hard time grasping the concepts, dunno why you didnt make a friend tho?

the second one was entirely inexcusable

and the 3rd one you shoulda done some research instead of just ignoring it.

what are you going to do now to make sure those dont happen?

Hmmm...lets see.

-When I first started buying condos awile back I was #10 in line as a buyer on a conversion project. Wasn't concentrating enough on real estate at the time (bogged down by business) and my biz partner and I only bought 2 units that day. We could have bought up to six units between the two of us, but this was our first buy in the area and we were trying to ease into it.

Long story short- we DID end up buying more units at this project, but by the time we realized what a steal they were the prices were already up by about $30-$40k PER UNIT. That basically means we lost out on an additional $120-$160k in profit because we didn't buy the max amount of units on day one. That could have put a Ferrari in my garage.

-I spent the last eight or nine years frustratingly trying to build (actually trying to just make it survive) a business. During that time I could have kept my bartending job and stuck with buying real estate. If I had done so, I would today be a MULTI, MULTI millionaire with proerty values having appreciated so much in the last couple of years. That could have put TEN Ferraris in my garage.

-In the future I vow not to get sidetracked into something that doesn't fit into my long term goals. It's easy to think "If I become a business owner one day I will be rich" but trust me, it ain't that easy. Although the business experience I obtained over the years is priceless, it turns out that it isn't my thing to run a business. I guess you have to try it to know if it works for you.
