hi guys i'm starting a diet of just grapes for a week more less, my mom told me to join her because a friend at her job did one and said she felt great afterwards.

I just wanna know, are there any risks? am i gonna get weak or something?
Hopefully i won't break the diet.. my brother and dad are gonna eat chicken today YUMMY:D! anyway... thanks for the advice bye!

um. is this a serious question? I can see the point of a daily fast but for a week? what are you trying to do? you can detox in a day if that's your goal.

and understand this: the needs of a sedentary, middle-aged woman (no offence to your mom or her friend if she's younger!) are gonna be entirely different to a young guy like you. what makes them feel good may well make you feel like ****.

try it if you want but I wouldn't recommend it.

I can be on this diet and still work out right? do you think i'll lose weight or something?

yeah keep working out, I reckon you'll put a good inch on your biceps...the grapes have hidden properties that allow your CNS to recover faster

while you're at it, make sure to masturbate a lot, that'll charge your testosterone up so you can release it better at the gym - I reccomend at least 3 times a day ;)

because a friend of my mom did it and the results were great, she felt full of energy, she lost weight, her skin looked better and that's why my mom wants to do it too, i also want to since i'd like to lose some weight (i also do excersices but a diet might be a nice addition)

Well, as the lads are saying, some in a sarcastic way :)D), you will lose weight like this in a week, but a great deal of it will be muscle. How many calories will you be taking in like this in a day? I'd imagine less than 1000cals per day...With no protein. There's your muscle catabolism right there..

What's the purpose of this btw? Weight loss of some kind?

Oh, OK then :) Dude...After all the info at this forum, you're still considering a starvation diet? You know damn right that that sort of thing sucks for fat loss and in general is conterproductive and ineffective.

Do it the proper way bud. You'll lose more muscle than fat.

I have said it before and I'll say it again: the needs of a young guy who works out are TOTALLY different from the needs of a middle aged woman.

Everyone is looking for a quick fix to lose weight but there ISN'T one.

So that means that he needs to eat 1000cal/71cal = 14 servings of grapes. 14 servingsx100grams = 1.4 kilograms of grapes = 3lbs of grapes everyday.

3lbs of grapes a day x 7 days = HOLY SH!T! 21lbs of grapes in a week! Is that ridiculous or what?


Lets not forget the isulin spike from eating all that sugar! Damn!

WRONG! i have been working out for over a year and a half, so i know it takes a long time to lose weight, so i'm not into this for weight loss, i'm into this because it gets toxines and stuff out of your body (english is not my 1st languaje so bear with me), if you think it's ineffective/counter proudctive then i guess i won't be doing it anymore but are you certain?

EDIT: i'd appreciatte serious responses, i kinda get lost in all this amount of badjokes and wiseass comments, thx to those who provide real adivce.

You're going to lose a hell of alot of weight, mostly muscle, but you need to learn a lesson here.

I apologise for assuming you wanted a quick fix, you'll agree that most people do. :)

I gave you a serious response: a juice fast/detox which is what you want is fine to run for a couple of days, not a whole week. And I doubt whether grapes would be my carb of choice even for the day. I would go with vegetable and/or fruit juices (100% organic, not from concentrate etc).

First you have to decide why you want to do this. Fasts need time to prepare for and time to ween yourself off them, depending what sort you do. You don't just switch off from your normal diet and start fasting (if you want it to be effective), otherwise you're just going a few days without food.

I wouldn't train with weights at all at this time either.
