Well this weekend I was with my friends and it was raining pretty hard. MY friend made a left turn and hit a oncomming car. I was sitting in the rear and I wasnt wearing the seat belt and my head hit the head rest. I was fine since we where moving at only about 15 mph but the guy who hit us was doing 30 mph.

We where in a lexus es300 1993 and the front side was crushed half way up to the windsheild. The other guys car, the audi a4 much newer model only lost its head light and there was not much damage to it.

Well I was seriously thinking of buying a Nissan Maxima 2003 because it has 255 hp, but I am seriously thinking about getting a german car because I hear that they are the safest out of japanesse, american and any other nations cars.

I was thinking of getting a audi a4 1.8t quattro, but I hear that the upkeep of a german car is very high but before I was concerned about speed and power I am now more concerned with safety.

So are german cars safer than japanesse cars?

I am glad that you are ok, you know you could be dead right now. Some people are unprepared to face eternity. They don't know if they were to die tonight if they will go to heaven. The Lord Jesus Christ said himself in the bible, unless a man is born again, he can not see the kingdom of God.

audi, porsche, benz, bmw id go with

back to Paris, missing the USA
Sorry you had an accident, at the same time, glad to hear that you are ok.

Talking about cars, actually it's well known that German cars are by far the best in the world.

In western Europe for example, nobody thinks that Japanese cars are "good", Toyota is just another brand like Nissan, Fiat, Renault, Peugeot etc...
On the other hand, German cars have the consensus to be considered "good cars".

The reason why in the US Japanese cars are considered good is because American cars are way too crappy, so in comparison, Japanese cars look good. Unlike the Japanese car makers, the european companies don't make models specifically for the American market, so although technically speaking, they are reliable, safe etc... they don't meet the needs of this specific market (bigger car size, bigger engine with more horsepower, almost no consideration whatsoever for fuel efficiency etc...) So except a few luxury brands, european cars that are technically superior are not sold in the US. It leaves the market to the Japanese cars.

Just for your information the Nissan Maxima is a model that is specifically designed for the north american market.

My family owns an Audi A4. So talking from experience, I can say that German cars are the way to go.

yeah

Yeah I could have died but it wasnt that bad though. I mean if he had hit the side then I might have been in some trouble. I got lucky, and I think I should use this event to realize that life waits for no one and that you should enjoy it properly and fully, but surprisingly I am not that shaken up from it. Thank god.

Anyway I have been saving money for a car and I am a college student.

I want to also have rhinoplastic surgery performed on my nose and that costs about 5000 dollars.

Is it worth to get a audi a4 3.0L car and to forget the nose surgery for a while or rather get a nissan maxima and have the nose surgery performed.

Is the audi SO much better than a maxima that it warrants me not spending money for a nose surgery?

A couple years ago I was sitting on the freeway in my Mercedes at a dead stop (going through LA) and a minivan hit me from behind at about 40 mph, knocking me out cold. The collision wasted the minivan - it had to be towed from the freeway. The mercedes had no visible damage. I drove it home without even having to adjust the mirrors. Since I was hit from behind, it didn't pop any of the airbags. Turns out the frame was bent, and the insurance company totaled it.

I thought about getting another german car, but I settled on something even safer, a Suburban. The first day I got it, the wife commented "Heh, that mercedes would be just a speed bump to this thing."

DON'T

me and another guy rented the damn thing and drove ti to Toronto (~400 km) we ware doing some doughnuts in the parking lot (there was snow on the ground so it was easy) and the stupid thing died. We had to take the buss back the next day. The car had only 9 000 km on it.

the thing abou cars is that they have a "crimple zones" so that the car takes more of an impact instead of the person in the car. So if you get a rigid car, chances are that you'll be out cold if hit somebody, and the damge will not be just on the end that got hit.

American cars have been getting better as of late. Newer Caddy's have less defects per thousand than comparable Japanese and German automakers. Don't discount American luxury brands if you're looking for a slick ride.

Having said that, there is still just something sexy and prestigious about rolling around in a German uber-sedan. I been driving my dad's old '94 E320 Benz, and even that's pretty sweet.

All you need to do is look at crash tests, I think they're called NCAB (or something similar).
My 2005 Toyota Aygo (small car) is 4/5
My Mum's old 1999 Audi A4 is only 3/5 and her new Toyota Yaris is 5/5.
If you're looking at new cars, there's nothing much between them, but if you're going for an older German car because you think it'll be safer than a newer less reputable car, you'll be sorely mistaken.
