Google with a major breakthrough in quantum computing solving an issue that has existed for at least 30 years where the more qubits(processing units in quantum computers) you generate, the more errors occur.
It has achieved something called "below threshold" for the first time whereby errors are exponentially reduced as you drive up the number of qubits.
In a mind boggling demonstration of power, they were able to solve a problem with this chip in under 5 minutes that would take Frontier, currently the world's fastest supercomputer, 10 septillion years to solve(conservatively).
That's 10 followed by 24 zeros.
Astonishing and about to usher in some truly mind boggling achievements that we never dreamt we're possible in the near future.

Google says its new quantum chip is way faster than the world's most powerful supercomputer
A new, state-of-the-art quantum chip from Google (GOOGL) has cracked the code on an almost three-decade-long problem, according to the company.
