Alright, A friend of mine likes this girl, but she has a boyfriend (I know, I advised against it, but he pursued anyways.) Anyways, he hadn't seen her with her boyfriend in while so he pulled this little number;

Him: Hey, are you still going out with what's his name?
Her: Steven, yeah
Him: Damn
Her: Why?
Him: I totally have a crush on him, but I can't do anything 'till I get you out of the picture

I lol'd, he was wondering if he came of as too ghey. What do you guys think?

It's high school, so yes, people probably will think he's gay. It's a decent approach/random line, but used in day game or with friends/acquaintances, it can backfire.

That's either crossing the line or getting really, really close to it. Depends on how he said it. You can make homosexual jokes with your guyfriends, and it's close to the line but not crossing it. If your friend didn't know Steven, then it would be pretty gay. Imagine Steven if he heard that guy said it. If he was a big football guy, he'd probably play smeer the queer on that guy's face.

She did laugh. He told me he said it obviously sarcastically and smiled at after he said it.

oh, and I got it wrong, he said "I totally have a crush on him, but I can't do anything 'till I get you out of the picture, Why Else?"

And yes, he has met Steven before, but I'm not sure how well they know each other. I think it was pretty funny considering he made it clear that he was only kidding, but it really depends on how he said it.

Hmm, but if you do that wouldn't you might as well straight up tell her that you like her, which (as far as I know) is something you're not supposed to do.
