Grrr I am so mad, even though you guys would be like "wtf?".

6 pounds.

I've gained 6 pounds since 2 months ago. And no, not muscle, fat. It makes my face look chubby and my stomach a bit flubbery. Now I, I want to lose this weight as fast as I can because I don't wanna be like this.

So I am gonna start a cutting program for me, and I'm gonna need some motivation. My daily calorie intake is around 1600-1700. So I'm not sure what I should reduce it too. Hows 1300 calories a day sound? I aim to lose about 1.3 -1.5 pounds a week. So to lose 6 pounds, I would probably have to go a month and a week or so.

I plan on running 2-3 miles every other day, and eat healthy.

I need someone to post me some good healthy foods I should be eating, please.

My current daily meals consist of:

A bowl of cereal, with 2% reduced fat milk.

A slice of pizza at lunch with a water.

2 ham and cheese sandwiches.

A frenchbread pizza thingy.

Another bowl of cereal, same milk.

So.. thats why I need you guys to help me out with my meals. What in the f*ck should I eat?

Anything else I should do that would help me lose my weight?

Thanks in advance.

WOW! Where to start...

1) Don't go below 2,000 calories. You're 15 and still growing, you need to eat lots od food. Instead add cardio until you start losing fat.

2) Pretty much everything you listed (that you eat) MUST GO. Stick to fibrous carbs (veggies) and low G.I. starchy carbs (brown rice, sweet potatoes). Get your protein from chicken, tuna, beef and cottage cheese. Get your fats from Flaxseed Oil, nuts or Udo's choice Oil blend. NO MILK.

3) Read DIESEL's guide to cutting up. While it contains a lot of misinformation, it will get you started in the right direction.

A load of bollocks. Big juicy bollocks at that.

DIESEL was/is over 220lbs, as far as I can remember from a few searches I did one time. When you get big, thats how you cut. Period. It's the way you should get used to cutting, if you plan to get big.

Just start to play more sports. At your age you dont actually need to cut unless you look pretty damn fat. You just run more.

No.

Of all of his "rules" only 2 or 3 are valid.

The rest is highly subjective and NOT a good place to start when setting up a cutting cycle.

The only reason its so popular is because most of you are absolutly clueless when it comes to the realm of bodybuilding.

1. Forget all the bullshyt you read in the magazines.. it's usually wrong and it'll only confuse you.

2. Cutting, like bulking, is simple mathematics.. calories below maintenance = fat loss.

2b. A GOOD CUTTING PROGRAM WILL TAKE AT LEAST 8 WEEKS, MORE IF YOU'RE FATTER. THIS WILL ENSURE THAT YOU WILL RETAIN AS MUCH MASS AS POSSIBLE AND NOT END UP LOOKING LIKE A SKINNY RUNT.

ANY OF YOU NEWBIES THAT THINK CUTTING IS EASY. WAKE THE FUKK UP. BULKING UP IS THE EASY PART.

2c. A CUTTING CYCLE SHOULD LAST NO LONGER THAN 12-16 WEEKS (if you're really fat).. ANYTHING MORE IS TOO MUCH STRESS ON THE BODY.
True.

3. Cardio is overrated.

The only use for cardio for cutting purposes is to insure a negative calorie balance. However, too much cardio eats up all your muscle.

FALSE. It DOES NOT eat up all your muscle provided you are eating enough. You should NEVER starve the calories to lose fat, you need to BURN them. Dropping cals will only put you into starvation mode.

4. NEVER GO BELOW 1600 calories.

That's what cardio is for. Start at your baseline, then progressive cut 200 calories each week til you hit somewhere close to 1600. Once in that 1600 range you start to add cardio.
True.

5. Long, steady-state cardio is bullshyt.

No cardio session should last more than 20 minutes. High intensity cardio of at least 10 but not more than 20 minutes is the key. (by intense I mean, wind sprint level effort). Start at 2 - 3 sessions per week, and continue to add as needed.
FALSE. This is highly subjective and people have different results from different types and lengths of cardio.

6. Low-carb diets are bullshyt, unless you are on the juice (specifically the cutting drugs) .

They leave you flat, and your workouts/strength will suffer... The carbs to avoid like the plague are the starchy carbs like pasta, white rice, and potatoes
FALSE. Diets like CKD that apply the no carb principle are EXTREMELY effective for bodybuilders.

7. Most of your carbs should come from fat free dairy, green vegetables and moderate portions of brown rice and potatoes. Only green veggie carbs after 8PM.
True, but NO dairy.

8. Suggested macro nutrient ratios:

Carbs: 1-1.2g / # body weight
Protein: 2g./ # body weight
Fat : as little as possible, take one tablespoon of flaxseed oil with protein and no carbs before bed.

most of your daily carbs should come in the three hour window following your weight workout. (see GUIDE TO BULKING for more info)
True.

I don't have time to post the rest but you get the picture.

If you want a place to learn about bodybuilding and nutrition, go to the elite fitness discussion forums. If you want to look like all the chump kids out there, follow the advice on this forum.

You're gaining fat cause you're eating fattening high carb crap with low protein.

How tall are you?

I wouldn't bother cutting to lose 6 pounds at your age just learn what you should be eating and do a clean bulk.

Those two enter the realms of contradiction. But I guess because I know f-all, I'm wrong there too.

Very low carb diets have left me feeling like complete crap. I've heard a lot of other people saying the same thing too. Maybe we were not *not* eating the carbs right?

You should still be working out/doing a job and walking about a lot. To me, thats burning cals.

Bugger all carbs == starvation mode. Go for your atkins diet sh1t. It's not healthy in my books. All you're doing is ****ting out good protein, and burning the rest to make energy. [not exactly right, but I again everyone here is clueless right? - I just cant be bothered to go in-depth into how your body can deal with protein]

Studies on HIIT cardio prove it to be more effective for fatloss. I find it more effective. Some of the gym rats find it more effective. The rest use keto diets.

With all your hard earnt, amazingly correct knowledge with bodybuilding, how about you contribute into this forum a bit more and not just say we know **** all.

I'll stick with T-Nation thanks. Been getting the info there for a long time, and I'm going to keep following it for a long time.

I guess John Berardi etc that contribute there are also 'clueless' to bodybuilding. I'll drop him a line to go to elite fitness forums

Let me just state that when I talk about no carb diets, I talk about CKD. NOT atkins. CKD applies the atkins principle for 6 days, and you have 1 day to refeed on carbs. This ensure you have energy throughout every cycle you do. It does not put you in starvation mode provided that you eat enough fat and protein. Do some research. I find it sad to find this amount of ignorance floating around when all this info can be found through a few hours of research. You are like a blind leading another blind.

T-Nation is excellent too. But just because one person recommended something, it does not represent what the rest of the website thinks. Fat loss is highly subjective, and one thing may not work for others.

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/index.php

^^^ I recommend this website for the sole fact that 85% of the population on that forum are professional level bodybuilders, not stick-thin teenagers. It is also the biggest on the net.

I can only give out so much info, most of you will not follow my advice anyway, being brainwashed with B.S. So I'll just point you to a place where you will be off to a good start.

I think Eulogy and Ben are kinda arguing tomato and tomahto....

Ben says not to cut out all Carbs, and Eulogy's talking about a carb loading day... sounds pretty close.

CKD requires a really regulated diet.... like extreme. DIESEL's cutting guide seems to be more of a general forum for how to cut up, and is much easier to implement than a CKD diet where what you eat changes every day, and the ratios change as well.

Keep It Simple is the phrase that springs to mind.

Just eat nice wholesome food, a quarter of your plate with meat the rest pototoes, carrots, whatever.

Lots of water based veggies. Fruits

Drink skim milk, don't eat any unecessary fat.

Do some aerobic work every other day, be it running swimming cycling etc.

Do two weight traning sessions a week, focus on simple compound movements.

It's not rocket science.

Sounds like discipline is your nut to crack pizza boy.

:D
