Hey guys, I recently made a progress thread and have been thinking about how I am going to progress fitness wise this year. I'm currently obese, but think I hold my weight pretty well. Throughout the last 3-4 years I've fluctuated weights between 130kg > 90kg > 120k (current). This was because of the start of college when I lost most of my weight, and started weight training and eating. So now I have the fat strong guy look at 120kg.
More to the point, I've been basing my training on getting stronger and getting 'more muscle' as muscle weighs more than fat etc and you can hold it better. I've been told long term it's better to lose weight slowly, building that muscle which will enable you to burn more calories as you're holding more lean mass. However I've noticed that I'm getting jacked, like huge torso and quads and thinking this look may not be for the ladies..
The guys who are lean, don't even have to be fitness people but naturally lean tend to look better in general. I've just been thinking lately that i've possibly been overcompensating for something by focusing mainly on muscle growth and strength? I go 7 days a week and train pretty much at 90%.
I just find gym and fitness in general keeps me calm, let's me release my anger at the end of the day and look good in the mirror. When i was 90kg, I was muscleless, i was starved everyday on 1000 cal, miserable doing cardio workouts everyday but looked very good fxking good. What are your thoughts?
