Hey I'm not disagreeing about this being a money thing. I'm just saying the man doesn't care what we think. Hilarious, the guy has somehow broken free from the western paradigm of what it means to be a domesticated male. He's like Andy Warhol and Andy Kaufman in that he's now turned his life into his performance. It saddens me that so many folks aren't seeing the utterly strange genius in this.

When people think of Charlie, they immediately think of coke fiend who patronizes prostitutes, and destroys hotel property. Also his bombastic and derisive delivery is clouding the over all credibility of his comments. Here's my argument.

1) Charlie Sheen is a great talent in Hollywood and is an A-list actor. He comes from a proud acting pedigree and was making more money than anybody else in his industry on a television show. Not only was he making more money, the show is/was highest rated show on television. People may think he's arrogant when he says he's "special," and a "rockstar from Mars", but in this case he has the stats to back himself up.

2)Charlie Sheen, not only lives with two chicks, but he took a trip with his babies' mama, and the two new chicks to the Bahamas. The two new chicks not only gave an interview to a major news publication bragging about how they all "get in the bed at night," take turns sleeping in the middle, and are there to satisfy Charlie's every whim. They also added they're cool with Charlie effin' chicks outside of they're polyamorous relationship, and included they're looking for and would welcome new women "rotating," in. Now if you're a traditional minded person, this would be offensive to you; however, a lot of men would love to be in this situation and wish they could have the balls to approach their sigificant other about indugling in such a relationship. To give you even a broader perspecitve on issue. Cats in the Middle East and Africa are more than willing to commit acts of jihad to get in the next life, what is now part of Charlie Sheen day-to-day exsistence.

3) People laugh and as Charlie puts it "their brains can't process," when he says he "thinks things and make it so." If you go to Barnes and Noble, you'll see an entire certain of books dedicated to that same exact philosphy. It's called the Self Help section. If any of you have ever read Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich," one of his excercises is to think and visualize the amount of money you want to have. He suggests that your visualization goes to the point where you can actually see and touch the money.

How many of use try exclude negative thoughts from entering our minds, how many of will tell our friends to cheer up and be positive, if their experiencing a tough time? Well Carlos is ACTUALLY doing it! Yet society, mocks him for it and calls him bipolar. If that's the case, then Napoleon Hill, Anthony Robins, Les Brown, and every other motivational speaker is full of sh*t. Hell, even prayer can be interpreted as a form of psotive thinking. is full of sh*t.

Now imagine if you will, Charlie Sheen said the same things in a calmer tone, minus the powder problem and antics. He would be commended and people would be encouraged to follow his example. Oprah would book him on her show. This is why some people, (myself included,) have gravitated and embraced Sheen. It's his willingness to be a man in an incredibly emasculated and effiminized world. One of Charlie Sheen's problems is America itself. Americans are more than willing to strieve for and achieve mediocrity. When we do achieve mediocrity, some of us, are offended by people who actually do more with their lives, especially when they have folks like Charlie do it with such braggadocio.

Charlie Sheen isn't perfect. His powder use is inexcusable and noting good could come of it. Other than that, I think it's a pretty save bet that a lot of us would want (even if it it's for a small period of time,) would want to be that "rockstar from Mars." Minus the powder use, of course.
