Is 15 grams of glutamine a day to much/pointless?
i was under the inpression i only needed to take 1000mg after a work out, but now its been suggested that i take 15 grams thru out the day,
apparently as little as 2 grams increase's ur growth hormones by 400%
what do you think?

I think that's absolute bloody rubbish, otherwise glutamine would be like gold dust, as it happens it's one of the cheapest supplements out there.

However, I'm a fan of l-glutamine and I do believe that you need a big dose to get the benefits though, since it only really becomes effective when you need to recover from really hard workouts, where a mere 5g of anything isn't going to help you (except CEE).

I add 5-10g of glutamine to my protein shakes, of which I have 3 a day minimum (plus a double dose pwo), and yes, I've noticed a difference between taking such a high dose and not, although I do train with rest-pauses and widowmakers.

Try not taking any glutamine at all and compare it with taking your 15-20g, if you don't notice a difference then you really don't need the stuff, save the money and buy more food or protein powder.
