I decided to e-mail this girl that I used to know from high school. She was a very good friend of my high school GF. Anyways, my GF in high school had a group of friends who I hung out with as well. This girl was the cutest one out of all the girls (there was another one, just as cute, but not my type for some reason).

This girl returned my e-mail and she sounded excited to hear from me. I'd definitely go for a girl like this, but it's just so sketchy since this girl is still friends with my ex-GF. A little awkward to say the least. I asked her to go for coffee this week to catch up. Should I even go for her?

The ex is from way back, years ago.

How is this considered "leftovers"? I would have gone for this girl instead of my ex-GF had I not been involved with my GF. In fact, I tried to break up with my ex-GF so I could go after this girl, but if any of you have ever been in this position, it sucks, because it's the ultimate double-edged sword situation. In essence, the friend will like you as long as you're with the GF, but if you break up with her, which is usually a nasty breakup (and this one was), then the friend is definitely going to be hearing how much you were a jerk, etc.

I don't think there's any easy way to do this normally, but since so much time has passed, it's made it a little easier than it would have been back then. I didn't even consider this girl because I needed to get my a$$ out of there, and I just totally abandoned that chapter in my life, including all the ex-GF's friends.

TesuqueRed, that's the way I see it too. The only thing is, this girl is totally cute and someone I'd go for for sure, but at the same time, she isn't my type as far as personality. She's LTR material, but not some ONS type for sure. She likes to travel and is worldly, and I'm not a big fan of travelling. If I ever get involved with a girl like this, it would be to marry her, and probably any other reason I'd just keep her as a friend. It's sort of a strange level of attraction here. I know she used to like me in high school but I was involved, so nothing came of it. Who knows now.

If anything, I'd like to keep her as a friend, social proof, whatever, make her introduce me to her other hot friends, etc. For some reason, I don't think it would ever work out for us any other way.

Has anyone ever felt like this about a girl?

Anyways, I don't see this girl sexually for some reason, so not that interested in a ONS. Probably because she's so cute, and the way she acts is not very seductive, I guess. Hard to explain. She is great to hang out with, and she knows a lot of other girls. I know a lot of guys are attracted to her, because she was one of the more popular girls in high school back in the day, one of those that everyone seemed to know. Anyways, this is the first time I've ever really felt this way about a girl who was not some UG. I don't know what's come over me. I also looked at our astrological signs just for kicks, and it actually said we were not a good match, funny enough.
