Is this normal? She's 29 and told me she hasn't had her period in years.

Does this increase or decrease her sex drive?

Depends on why she doesn't get her period. Eating disorder? Decreased sex drive. Certain type of birth control? Depends..

I know she works crazy hours and doesn't eat right (ex: one, maybe 2 meals a day, but lots of snacks like oreos, pickles and peanut butter).

Is this a red flag?

Depo shot can do that. Injectable birth control. One of my ex's didn't have a period for the entire time we dated.

Also, I dated a girl that used to skip the last week of birth control pills (the one that kicks off the period) and start a new pack so she would never have a period.

Yep, Uncharted is right. Also, IUDs (like Mirena) can stop periods completely after a while. I believe that's a side effect of Implanon also (an implant in the arm). Eating disorder is probably unlikely because she'd have to be pretty malnourished to stop getting periods and you'd likely notice other worrying symptoms.

Does not having a period increase or decrease her libido? Or it has no effect at all?

Heck no that's not normal. The girl needs to see a gyno, asap. Any time a woman over the age of 18 (women can be irregular for a few years before their hormones stabilize in their late teens...usually by age 16 this happens but there are some late bloomers) stops having regular periods, something is wrong with her health. Unless there's some outside cause like some sort of birth control that she's using, she should be getting a period.

It really depends on what her situation is. A top complaint with many birth controls is the loss of libido. But women will react differently to birth control so that might not be a problem for everyone (assuming BC is causing her lack of periods). I would guess in general her libido might be somewhat lower, women seem to become more horny around their periods (this conclusion is mostly anecdotal, but I'm a female...and please don't kill me everyone).

I mean, have you banged her yet?! That might give you an idea. :)

Why would she be on birth control if her last relationship was 3 years ago?

Birth control can have desirable side effects, clear skin for example. She might have had really painful or irregular periods that she wanted to banish altogether. Some birth controls can help with conditions like endometriosis. If she has an IUD those stay put for 5 - 10 years and would just be a pain/pointless to remove unless she wanted kids.

She could like staying on BC to serve as an extra protective measure if she has one night stands. If the lack of periods aren't due to birth control, there are probably some other medical problems.

The pickles are a definite red flag.

It increases her libido. Makes her want lots of sex. Just with other men.

Can't tell if you're serious in the first sentence.
