Alright guys here's a situation I'm hoping you can shed some light on.
I recently started a new job that I plan on staying at for a while, move up the corporate ladder and all that. There's this girl I work closely with who has been flirting with me on and off, and it's obvious to me she wants me to make a move. This weekend I'm going to a coworkers birthday party in which this girl will also be attending. Earlier today she told me how her class project partner didn't show up to their meeting yesterday and that if she had my cell number we could have done something until traffic died down. Later on she emailed me her cell number saying I should call her if I get lost on the way to this coworkers party. (It's some place local that I've been to before).
I'm well familiar with the phrase "don't dip your pen in the company ink" and have been burned in the past doing that. I'm focusing on other things right now and don't feel the need to pursue this much further. How would you handle this situation? Is there a way for me to keep the possibility open with her in the future?
