I have developed a fairly successful method getting girls interested and paving the way for a potential date. The method involves giving a girl whom I have already approached or who has shown some interest a cast puzzle to solve. Obviously this only works if one can get to an agreement as to how the girl will return the puzzle once it is solved (or not, for that matter).
Upon giving the puzzle I will tell the girl that she will get something from me (can range from chocolate, some drinks, a date... basically whatever is suitable given the situation, and how good ones imagination is). Any girl with even the slightest interest will agree to it, and oftentimes they will happily agree to giving me something instead, if they fail to solve the puzzle.
This method has several advantages.
- I get to test the girl and get her to do something (solving the puzzle) for me. She has to do her best (and most of them do) to show themselves in a good light, i.e that they are smart enough for me. They basically qualify themselves for me, and invest in me. Thus they are less likely to flake on me.
- In case she solves it, I get to give her a gift (without it being a gift), or taking her to a date without having to ask her for one. She will appreciate it either way.
- In case they fail in solving the puzzle and have agreed to give me something in beforehand, then I get to tease them and get them to invest in me when they do something for me. I can obvioulsy tell them that the puzzle is indeed difficult to solve as to not lower their self esteem.
- It gives both of us an excuse to talk to each other again - even if the initial contact has been a short one. An icebreaker of sorts.
- This approach is likely something she has never encountered before, thus she is more likely to follow through.
While it has worked for me, I'd still appreciate any opinions and input.
