Getting back in contact/Dealing with compliments

2 part question this.

Firstly, what are peoples opinions and best ideas on getting back in contact with girls you havent seen/spoke too for a good few years. Really want to get in contact with one or two who despite having them on facebook, I haven't spoke to for a while now and probably because i've been reminded of them on facebook, i've started to think about trying to chat to them again. We live in different places now so the chances of bumping into them are pretty slim.

Also, as a side issue, how do people deal with compliments? For example, I've just had a new hair cuts and have recieved some compliments about it but I never know how to properly recieve a compliment like "Your hair looks good."

I'll search it aswell but how do you deal with compliments?

Can't go wrong with a simple smile and "thank you". Don't always have to say something witty.

Just write on their wall on facebook.. Nothing wrong with that, its what the site is for. 'Hey haven't talked to you in ages, blah blah...'

Depends on the compliment. Simply accepting it is usually a good enough way, I sometimes like to make silly jokes about it though. For example
Her:Nice shirt!
Me: Thanks! I made it myself

And my favourite:
Her: You smell nice
Me: I taste even better

To deal with compliments, I just say "cheers"..

As for chatting to people from your past on facebook, just send them a message sayin' "what's up?"
