if you maintain a 3.25 GPA, which is just a B+, you'll get an extra 4k per year of "TEACH" loans. So you'll get 17k per year, plus the Pell grant covers your 5k per year of actual college expenses. In one year, Jan to Jan, you can lay your hands on 26k of cash, if you go at it right. You only have to get "c's" in half time classes to keep the 12k per year coming in.
Then you'll get no more loans until August of the next year. If you don't start in Jan, you won't get loans-grants for the following summer semester. When the spring semester ends, in May, you will have 3 months to go to Asia and find your nurse/dentist/MD, etc. You can get food stamps, and make 4k selling blood plasma ($60 per week for the 17 months). You can live for that 17 months on 10k, by living in the van, eating at the churches and missions, and have 20k in the bank, with which to go get your nurse.
Do NOT settle for one who's not FLUENT in English and who can't pass the CA nursing exam, guys. Shes' got be be able to start pulling down at least 50k per year, the next month after she arrives here. You'll spend 10k meeting/her getting her here, so you want HER college loan money, along with a big chunk of her salary. She won't have to repay the loans if she continues as a nurse for her career. So it's free money. This is a HELLUVA good deal for her, so you'll find plenty of RN's who'll go for it, but try to find one who you really like and who like's you, or it will still be miserable for both of you.
Meet a trustworthy vet. give him a job as your 'go-fer", so that he can get a VA home loan. no closing costs, no down payment required. Get a big old house and start renting out weekly rooms. There's 100-150k per year in that deal, gross pay, of course. But you can clear 30k per year with that building, while going to college half time at night. In a year, you can get another such building, and manage both, if they are not too far apart. You'll have to kick down a free room and a bit of money to your "old" vet to manage the old house, while you develope and learn the new place. You won't have the free time to continue college, but you won't need the college, either. You'll be pulling down 60k per year.
she'll divorce you, most likely, once she's a US citizen (5 years or so) So it would be best if you've got an agreement with her about it, in advance. Or LEAVE the first building loan in the vet's name and own the second one thru a Nevada corp, without your wife knowing anything about it. If you break the rules about how to handle this, you'll be sorry! but it's a way to start with nothing (other than a GED, which your city will train you to pass, for free). you can be set for life, guys, using your school loans, if you go at it with intelligence and discipline.
