For a few weeks now I have been running, and doing training with my friend, (he isn't a DJ), we both decided that we wanted to get more in shape (well we are not violently overweight or anything, we just wanted to get fitter)...

Training with a friend gives you somebody to talk to about getting fit, somebody to share goals and achievements with, someone to motivate you and push you... Somebody to go through the whole damn thing WITH you... So if you have any mates wanting to get in form, get talking to them and start training...

This is a better way to get in shape... not physically easier... but MENTALLY easier... and sometimes that can be the most important thing of all.

Not only are you able to push eachother, but you can hold eachother accountable for showing up. That way, if you skip a workout, then you're letting your friend down.

By the way...

Competition breeds the best results.

having a guy with you at the gym is awesome, not only have you got a spotter but you can't leave 'til he does, so more sets etc ;)

Thats why you lift together, you generally finish at the same time.

ah yeah in general but when I go on my own I basically do 3 sets of bench, a set of skullcrushers and a set of shoulder presses and I'm off home >.>

Hm.

My "chest" day looks like

Bench: 5x5
Incline DBs: 3x8
Dips: 3x8

Then I scram.


In the end, get a friend.:) Creative huh?

well if I do my full push day it'd be something like:

3 sets bench
3 sets incline bench
3 sets decline dumbells

3 sets shoulder press
3 sets forward raises

3 sets tricep press
3 sets skullcrushers


I fit that into about 40 minutes too :)

tbh I don't bother with them, I know I should 'cos I do kickboxing and jiu jitsu and I can't be helping my flexibility by not stretching around weight workouts, I just never get round to it

however, I'm gonna start doing them with my new split, I figure it's about bloody time lol
